Post Game Thread: Drake, Koi Lead Gophers to Crazy Comeback Homecoming Win!!

He wasn't as sharp as in some previous games, but being at the game you could see that Purdue's handsy defense where they ride the wr to the break of the route and then hold them to stay tight did not leave any room for easy passes. My brother and I commented on how well he was delivering the ball for the most part to receivers that were blanketed.
This!

Did he ever see the field for Nebraska? I guess you could tell him to just run as fast as he can straight down the field; at least he'd take one defender with him.
Coleman is an interesting case. Number one recruit in Nebraska, four-stars on 247. As a true freshman in 2023, at 6'4", 190, Coleman played in 11 games for the Huskers, starting in six. He caught 8 balls for 139 yards (17.4 avg.). Had some trouble on perimeter blocking in the run game. Consensus was that he needed more mass added. Coleman red-shirted his second year (2024), playing just against Rutgers. Possibly didn't fit coach Rhule's offense. Rumors that he didn't practice hard ...

Transferred to Minnesota for a fresh start in 2025. Now 6'5', 210 lbs. Supposed to be very fast. He has one catch this year and rarely sees the field from what I can see. I suspect that he and tall, speedy Jalen Smith might be competing for the same role: WR for long downfield shots. Coleman is not known for success on contested balls; from what I have seen, neither is Jalen Smith. Our downfield passing game seems to produce a lot of contested catch situations (we can all speculate about why). But it sure was fun to see Drake, whose got the arm for it, chuck a 50 yard pass downfield to a streaking WR.

Anyway, PJ appears not to like to experiment with personnel once the season is underway (except in exigent circumstances). PJ also appears content to call dozens of running plays that will result in zero or negative net yardage, but won't call deep passes that might be incomplete and "waste" a down. But, since the Gophs are currently relying almost solely on the passing game for offensive production, I feel like Coleman, with his size, speed, and athleticism, is an option and possible asset lying fallow.

Mrs. Full Speed is an acute spectator as she processed in game statistics with great acumen. Kudos.
Full disclosure - she used to work at Purdue. She was rubbing it in that the Boilers outgained us in a single run, and it was only an 18-yard run at that...
