Poll: What grade would you give the Gophers coaching staff in the loss to Purdue?

Too busy reading the positive press clippings and lose to an inferior team.

It’s the same every year.
Ultra conservative.
Especially when we tied it up.
Some things will never change and I’m not sure I will ever see the gophers win the big ten west much less the big ten.

Based on the offense have to give them a D.

Looked flat to start the game and never recovered.

This team was not ready to play. Evident on the very first series. However, if Brown-Stephens catches that easy TD pass and Tricket does not miss the chip shot FG, the game is a different outcome. So can't put it ALL on the coaches. But still give them a D for not having the team ready and some brutal play calling.

Apparently 3 Purdue fans on the board to give the coaches an A, B, or C for this sh*tsh*w of an effort.

Can we not include Rossi in the "coaching" though? He and his group did their Job. Bad tackling first series on Defense, after that, they were great. Eventually broke after almost 3 and a half quarters, but yeah, nothing from the Offense.

Fire Kirk Ciarrocca?

Nah, I hope Fleck watches the replay and sees that they had momentum and opportunity and to keep their foot on the petal and not shut down again like they did today.

D over an F only because the defense looked great.

Look, obviously you never want to be playing from behind. Especially with Fleck/KC’s philosophy. What I just cannot understand is why the wheels absolutely just come off with the offensive scheme once they’re losing. This team is not built to win solely on the passing game. I get that the running game was struggling early, but when Williams finally started having success in the second half they just abandoned it altogether.

2-19 when trailing at the half is a brutal stat.

F.
Nothing else to give. They failed. Lost a HC game to a less talented team. No other grade should be applicable. Does not mean they cannot rebound and win 9-10 games, but today was a total failure.

Morgan rifled that ball. No excuses, Mike should have caught the ball,, he was wide open. No reason to throw a fastball as hard as you can there. Just a reasonable amount of touch on the throw and that is easy pass and catch.

they are not going to win 10 games

It was an easy catch, I don’t care how hard he threw it. It’s not like he was 3 yards away from the qb.

They didn't abandon it all together. Go look at the stat line. Williams and the O-line weren't good enough to consistently get the first downs so they had to throw. I think the only second half series where they didn't run the ball was the last one when down 20-10 and time running out.

Coaches called plays with players open… TDs to be had.

Players just didn’t make plays on offense.

I went D only because Mo was out and it changed the game chemistry in a big way.

I have zero doubts that we win that game with a healthy and effective Mo.

Although a team sport comprised of three elements...offense, defense, and Special Forces...this poll has to be broken out...

Offense - F+ for having to know Mo would be a game-time call and not being ready to execute Plan B.

Defense - B+/A- as they were the only reason this was not 38-10 Purdue over the Gophers.

Special Forces - A- for the missed FG but otherwise sound.

They didn’t run it the drive before that either, down 3 with 5 minutes left. Sent every receiver 10+ yards down the field on 3 straight plays and went three and out.

D. They didn't do anything to put this team in a position to win.
