Lol. Fleck is a good coach, but our OL sucks in our CBs suck. Lucky to be bowl eligible and what season eight or nine how does that translate into PJ being a good coach?
Probably because we could've folded but ripped off four straight wins in the conference before dropping a road game against a motivated team. This has been a good coaching job considering all of the circumstances dating back to the Iowa debacle.
I’m not a fire PJ guy, but I just had to laugh at the post. I think PJ has us destined to a stitch above mediocrity, but that won’t get him fired.

Would’ve been pretty easy this year for a good team. A real top 20 team would’ve easily beat a shitty Michigan and mediocre Rutgers. Make a field goal against Carolina and this is a 9-1 team with two to play. And the team would only have to be as good as 2014, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022

As fan for nearly 50 years I’ll say that his recruiting is not bad now. You can’t forget the years of misery before (Salem, Stoll, Wacker, Gutey, some mediocrity with Mason, then misery, mediocrity with Kill, now a pretty good run with PJ.) the current staff. Did any of them in the last 50 years recruit some stellar talent? You think it’s easy to bring players here? Only guy I saw do it was Holtz and man…if Notre Dame didn’t come calling I think he could have built something great here.
He must be one of the best in game coaches of all time then if he's gone 28-21 in the Big 10 since 2019 without Big 10 level talent.
I know I'm in the minority but if we're winning more than half of our conference games on a yearly basis, even if it's just one above .500, that's good enough for me. Our recent history says we should be celebrating that too. Fleck, whenever he goes, is setting a table of higher expectations for the next guy. It'll be on the athletic department and the school admin to swing for the fences and not make a regressive hire. We should expect greater things right now but should also do our best to maintain some perspective looking at the big picture when things don't go how we want them to. Fleck is pretty great. His track record as coach here is the reason why we're expecting more.
IMHO Cal Stoll was better than many think considering the small number of bowl games, higher/ no scholarship limits, and playing in the Big Two - little eight era. Beating: Washington, UCLA, Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin in one season (77') is impressive in any era.
