You ever been to Dodge Center? I’d rather call just about anyplace home than there."Home". May he have had ties to Pennsylvania? Some call the commitment "Home." I don't know the family history for this kid.
If it was always going to be him or Voss, I’m always going with Voss there. Better for him to spread his wings elsewhere if that’s the position he wants to play.I guess the Gophers should have offered him as a TE. Apparently that was big factor in his decision. If he can’t add the weight to be a TE I could see him as a WR.
I actually dont wish anything for him. He didn't want to be part of our club. So why would I cheer for someone who decided they didn't want to be part of "our thing.'? Because we share the same birth state? No... I want the Gophers to absolutely beat the hell out of him when they see him on the field. If he changes his mind, sure I'd be a fan. For now... I agree with others... dead to me.some of you guys need to be better. I don't know the kid personally but I've seen him play a few times. He's really talented and made a decision that he feels is best for him. I've never heard anyone say anything but positive things about him. Wish him the best of luck.
I could see that. I do think he'll be happier giving it his best shot at his preferred position. Good luck to him.Welp he better start eating. I still think he’d be better off trying to be the next DeVondre Campbell instead being lured by that gadget TE stuff they ran with Warren.
I'm a Gopher fan. I don't give a shit what he does if it doesn't involve the Gophers. I'm not going to wish him luck or ill will. He could be an all-American or tear his Achilles and it wouldn't matter. If he ever decides to become a Gopher, then I'll care again.some of you guys need to be better. I haven’t really seen that much vitriol. Not ripping his choice is enough, we don’t need to wish him luck on top of it.some of you guys need to be better. Ditto. I wish him nothing until we play each other, to which I will wish him to have three dropped passes, 2 catches for 6 yards, and half a dozen blown blocks leading to TFLs!I haven’t really seen that much vitriol. Not ripping his choice is enough, we don’t need to wish him luck on top of it.
Voss has some weight and quite possibly some strength on him. I think Petersohn is more athletic and faster. Time will tell. Good chance they both will be very successful. After watching Petersohn in person and seeing his highlight video I'm kind of surprised he wasn't getting more looks at QB.Voss is more ready from day one at 225lbs. Petersohn is listed at 195lbs. He's an athlete and could find another position depending on how he fills out.
Petersohn had 6 P4 offers listed and PSU is the highest school on that list.
Voss had 14 offers listed and MN got him over a number of higher programs.
Tough to blame a kid that isn't offered at the position he wants and the hometown team got the #1 kid they wanted.
There wasn't but there were a couple posts that certainly indicated we were heading in that direction.I haven’t really seen that much vitriol. Not ripping his choice is enough, we don’t need to wish him luck on top of it.
I think if he pans out how PSU wants he’ll throw a few balls.Voss has some weight and quite possibly some strength on him. I think Petersohn is more athletic and faster. Time will tell. You'll go cross eyed looking down your nose....You ever been to Dodge Center? I’d rather call just about anyplace home than there.
We wanted him as a TEI’d love to hear more on the thought process of MN on being so adamant on him being an LB. It sucks but I trust the staff. Weaver and Voss are great options and LB is solid also. I think what hurts most is him being an instate guy and kind of stunting the momentum we were feeling. I’m sure the staff made a good mark in case he gets home sick down the road.
Maybe switch to decaf?I actually dont wish anything for him. He didn't want to be part of our club. So why would I cheer for someone who decided they didn't want to be part of "our thing.'? I'm curious how those conversations go. Do they let a guy come in and try the position they prefer if that's what they really want or did they specifically say we want you at LB and that is where you'll start out if you come to Minnesota?I’d love to hear more on the thought process of MN on being so adamant on him being an LB. We cooled on him.
Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone would be very forceful with telling him which position he’d play, especially if he was desiring a different one. It’s interesting people are declaring we were recruiting him to be a LB while others are saying we wanted him as a TE.I'm curious how those conversations go. Oh boy….You'll go cross eyed looking down your nose....
My guess is there's a conversation about how the player envisions his future and the coaching staff talking in vague terms about how they see the player, as in, "Once you get into our training program where we can get a better assessment as to where you might best be used, we'll talk to you about where we think you will help us and help yourself the most.Yeah, I can’t imagine anyone would be very forceful with telling him which position he’d play, especially if he was desiring a different one. NeverMaybe switch to decaf?
As usual, wrong on every point. We wanted him as a TE
Voss should be better. He's already 225 pounds and the number 1 player in the state.
I'm going to laugh though, when Petersohn moves up to number 1 or 2 in Minnesota now that he committed to Penn State.
