Getting a bit nerve racking on this one. Yesterday I was confident that he was coming here, and now I'm not so sure. Hopefully I'm just experiencing some jitters.

I would LOVE for him to be a Gopher but if not, so be it. Not going to lose sleep over it.

I wish for them to lose every game. I even cheer or Iowa and Wisconsin to beat them.

The people involved should never be forgiven but those people are all no longer associated with the University so it is really not fair to judge the current team/school based on the sins of scum from the past.

I think a lot of their fans still backed up Paterno til the end so that's what does it for me.

Correct. I don't doubt every single one of them would make the same choice, and the fans would be ok with it.

Pedophile state university. I believe they have put Paterno's statue back on display. I think they covered it for a year or 2

The fanbase largely made excuses and even defended it to some degree a lot more than they condemned it.
 

PSU will always have an ugly asterisk in my book. I do feel for fans, because it would be incredibly painful to learn of such a disgusting lack of action to protect children. If this ever happened at the UMN, I would be dealing with a massive moral injury...and yea, it would affect my fandom a great deal.

Not universal. There are many Penn State fans. Most I knew were in complete shock. They didn't know how to feel because it was so bizzare. Protecting Sandusky was the furthest thing from their minds.

Also of note. IIRC We Gopher fans had a bizarre issue with Gophers Men's Hockey. I don't think for a second that Gophers fans condone such activities.

Nobody protected Sandusky, but many attempted to protect JoePa.

You could probably make a case that Sandusky was protected by virtue of the fact that PSU chose to handle things internally rather than go to the cops.

Was talking more about their reaction to Paterno. Many were unwilling to be critical of him in any way.

Careful assigning the viewpoints of a vocal minority to the fanbase as a whole. I'm sure there was a lot of denial and hope the allegations were not true but as the facts came out I have a tough time believing the majority of their fans were not horrified and disgusted by what happened.
 

Wiltfong at On3 Just predicted him to PSU as well. So both Rivals and On3 (Which both had Voss predicted to MN) have him to PSU. Hopefully they are all dinks
 

I can't believe Voss scared him away, but the timing seems to make it likely. There are 22+ positions on a football field and guys with that kind of height and athleticism can play a lot of them. Not sure why we couldn't get creative getting two of them on the field as tight ends or hybrids which is so popular nowadays. He's 195 pounds! He's more likely to get on the field EARLY as a wide receiver or hybrid at Minnesota then Penn State. We're more likely to show flexibility and/or play him a little both ways than Penn State. I'm sure the staff tried all approaches.
