Patrick Reusse Recruiting Joke/Scare

I think most can agree on that. Now let's get to the bottom of why Dana Carvey never became a bigger star. Sure, he was great on SNL, but while many others used that as a springboard to becoming some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, it just never happened for Carvey. The only movies he made that weren't complete stiffs were the Wayne's World films.

He was also in some horrible movie where he played a con artist and falls in love with this chick, then she finds him out, bla bla bla...

Anyone remember that movie?

From Dana Carvery's Wikipedia page:

In 1997, he underwent heart-bypass surgery for a blocked coronary artery, but the surgeon operated on the wrong artery. The blocked artery was deeply buried in muscle and thus hard to find; another artery, though not blocked, was clearly accessible, so the surgeon bypassed it. Carvey, later suffering from angina pectoris, sued for medical malpractice and was awarded with eight million dollars in damages. He has had to undergo additional surgery to correct his heart problems. Carvey stated in an interview with Larry King that he donated all the money awarded to him to charity.

Reusse is a sarcastic SOB ... just like me. I actually agree with most of his stuff. 75% of his columns are pretty good.

I am a Reusse fan, but this bit was lame and in poor taste. If he said on the air so he could make his point, but make it obvious he was kidding, that would be fine. But to tweet it as breaking news, boo Pat.

Ford actually was a football player at Michigan. As for Carvey, he played second fiddle to Mike Meyers in Wayne's World, he was always at his best as the Scottie Pippin of the film

Not to bring alive an old topic, but THIS is why Pat cannot expect to get away with his "joke" tweet.

I agreed with the poster there is a difference between columnist and reporter. Bill Simmons is a columnist, I would never look to him for news. Adam Schefter is a reporter who breaks news. I would read his twitter to find out news.

Patrick tweets this today:

Reusse tweet: "DeLaSalle's Reid Travis gets a visit from Notre Dame hoops coach Mike Brey on Tuesday

That looks a lot like news to me, however maybe it is satire? Is he trying to make a poor joke? Would I get it if I were watching the ND hockey game maybe? It is worded no differently than his "joke" tweet. And the only reason someone could know the Tyus tweet was a joke is if they were watching the game. That is why this is an issue.
