Other Bowl Games Thread - 2019 College Bowl Season Edition

Regardless, Clemson has played amazing. Will hopefully be a great finish down to the wire.

Either of these teams can compete and beat LSU

Huge assist by the officials earlier in the game.

But absolutely all on OSU on Clemson's last drive, going through them like air, and on that last botched pass.

Great game, could have gone either way. I think LSU probably wins.

Great game. Ohio State with 3 crucial mistakes (dropped TD, 2 penalties) and the refs took away another one. OSU should have won by 2 scores.

Certainly sucks for the Big Ten not getting a shot for the title but Ohio State showed they belonged, could easily have won. Minimal brand damage.

Unforced errors like roughing the kicker and two dropped TD passes by the RB were compounded by the targeting penalty which was marginal.
I had no problem with the fumble recovery being overturned. The WR never had control of the ball.
tOSU has no excuses. One more first down might have sealed the win and giving up the losing TD in about five plays was a complete lack of intensity and focus. I would have liked a tOSU win for the BIG but they pissed it away.
LSU will beat Clemson.

Ohio State was the better team. Hands-down. Penalties were a big setback but they should’ve won this game by two touchdowns. Pulling for LSU to beat them by 14

Yep. LSU is on another level from everyone else this year. I thought Ohio State was in that class too but I was wrong.
What makes you think they are not? Everyone knew that after the top 3 the next best was quite a bit weaker. So you had the best playing a weaker OU team. Who knows Clemson and OSU might be in the same class. Guess we will find out. Personally I thought that OSU was the better team. That catch and fumble TD overturned after being ruled a TD was baffling. I thought indisputable evidence? Guy had the ball and made three steps!

OSU lost due to redzone inefficiency, much like Minnesota @ Iowa. They were absolutely dominating the first 20+ min of that game and should've been up 24-0. They only have themselves to blame.

That said, the officiating certainly left a LOT to be desired and will hang over the outcome in the minds of many fans. You'll never be without judgement calls, but it's kinda infuriating that the average fan is left wondering what's a catch, what's targeting, what's roughing, etc...especially when it's called differently in a game you watched earlier in the day or the previous week, and when the phrase "indisputable evidence" means nothing to one crew and is taken as gospel by another.

Oklahoma did not belong in the final four.
Who did, then??
- Like hell another SEC team did. They had their chance. They lost to LSU. Hard no.
- ACC is borderline G5 after Clemson, so no
- Obviously not Baylor, they lost to OU
- no way a PAC team deserved the chance, this year. Too many losses to other PAC teams. Doubt that the outcome against LSU would've been much different, whether it was Utah, Oregon, Washington, or USC.
- Wisconsin? Penn State? Again, they had their chances. Wisc lost to OSU twice, Penn St lost once. In my opinion, if you absolutely had to put another Big Ten team in there, it should've been Penn St. But not sure they deserved it.
- Notre Dame? Not good enough this year.
- G5 team? No, their best just lost to Penn State

I say OU was the clear #4 this year. And LSU is just that much better than them. It is what it is.

Too many FGs for for the Buckeyes
The one earlier where Dobbins caught the ball for TD and then the ground caused him to lose control of it, is bogus in my opinion. That effort should've been rewarded with a TD. Fine, if the rules are clear, not gonna argue it, but I still think that should've been a TD.

I'm not going to watch the natty. Sick of it always being teams from the Southeast US.

Fine, if that is the biggest and most important TV market for college football. Fine, if that is where the best players come out of high school, JUCO, college, etc. That's all fine.

But that won't persuade me. Too many other areas of the country that also have good football, and deserve to get into the natty. Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Plains, West Coast. Sick of it always being the SE.

Won't get my viewership.

LSU v. Clemson...

Offense: LSU
Defense: Clemson
QB: Even
Coaching: Clemson
Intangibles: Clemson

Clemson’s defense is better than LSU’s and their QB has yet to lose a game in his college career. Clemson over LSU for the title.

Areas that have good football, but apparently not good enough this year. Winning = “deserving.”

On last night’s game, Clemson was absolutely the better team. Sure there were some critical moments, but other than the ridiculous overturn of the scoop and score, it was OSU making bonehead plays. Ultimately, OSU had the chance to win the game, but they couldn’t stop Trevor Lawrence when it mattered most. They choked. Statistically, the game was relatively even.

Agree to disagree PF. Ohio State was clearly the better team, and should've won the game by a TD or two. Refs were horse dung and stole the game from them.

Weird, an SEC crew. And the SEC and ACC are literally owned at this point by whom? That's right, ESPN. As is the CFP.

I'm starting to wonder if the Big Ten and the PAC shouldn't give ESPN a big, fat middle finger, and pull the eject handle on this fake "national championship" system. If those two confs won't participate, then they can't claim it as an objective championship.

Sign big contracts with FOX and CBS, and take the Rose Bowl too with them to those networks.

Piss off, ESPN!
