Donovahn Jones (Missouri commit) has rescheduled his visit for January. No idea why.
By the looks of the guys who have or will have visited, it looks like we have ~14 serious prospects for about 8-10 spots.
RB- Berkeley Edwards
RB- Jacky Marcellus
WR- Eric Carter
WR- Hunter Jarmon
WR- Drew Wolitarsky
TE- Aaron Batten
DE/DT-Demaris Peppers
DE/DT-Hendrick Ekpe
OLB-Rayfield Dixon
OLB/S- Tedric Thompson
S- Neiko Robinson
S- Malik Rucker
DB- Nate Godwin
ATH- Donovahn Jones
I'm sure Kill and co. have a few visits they are still trying to work, and probably a few local guys as fallback options (I wouldn't be surprised to see them add a JUCO defender or two either). It's nice to at least see them being proactive with the visits, in spite of the lack of commitments.
Thanks for the excellent analysis.
The one thing I might add is that it is likely that the number of total scholarships available (Per coach Kill) will be close to 14. Two of these 14 scholarships will be due to Jimmy Gjere and Quinn Bauducco scholarships being freed up by them going on medical scholarships next year. Coach Kill also commented that is likely that 2 of the 14 scholarships could go to walk-ons leaving 12 for recruits.
With 6 oral commits now, we would then have room for only 6 more recruits from the list of 14 above. This is obviously a moving target and as somebody pointed to me it all works out in the end. Personally, I think it is done with magic.
I'd bet dollars to donuts that the total number is higher than that (more like 16-18 total) after off-season attrition.
I don't think there will a large amount of defections, but I'd probably look at Dexter Foreman, Kyle and Luke McAvoy, and Cameron Wilson as good possibilities due to depth chart issues. I'd agree that's probably about it, and I wouldn't expect anyone like Moses Alipate to transfer with only one year left to graduate.
He could. Obviously, I don't know how many credits he has.Moses is in his 4th year, could graduate and hang up the cleats. Many have done that in the past.
