***OFFICIAL UCLA AND CRABBY CRONIN AT MINNESOTA IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Unbelievable effort from the 6 guys and coaching staff. 3 turnovers. Massive game by Groves (without scoring!) and timely shooting.

Truly a remarkable performance. One for the ages.

Watched the first half on the treadmill and second half balancing two kids (wife out of town) so didn’t post in here at all.

But fuck yeah. Niko can coach, kids have bought in and I’m excited for this program for the first time in a long time.

Plus won with defense options limited, can't play man to man with 5-6 guys.

Way outperforming.

A poster on a UCLA board referred to us as “low talent mooks”. Who’s enjoying 2-0 in basketball & 1-0 in football since the Bruins joined the Big Ten? (BTW—is it four consecutive basketball wins with the 1997 & 2013 NCAA wins?). Can’t wait to make the LA trip next year and make it five in a row with another win at Pauley Pavilion—the LTM(s) rule!

Secondary ticket market is surprisingly sparse for today’s game. I was hoping to find a good deal! Hopefully that means a good crowd will be on hand today.
Ended up finding great seats behind the gopher bench right before tip off. What a blast, teams just kept trading punches all game. One of the most entertaining games I’ve been to in years! Crowd was great as well!

4-3 since the losing steak...make zero sense but it is a ton of fun to watch.

Can't wait to see what Niko can do with a full roster.

Yeah, and it's mostly 5 guys. A reasonable expectation earlier in the conference season was that this team would wear down from lack of depth in February but these guys actually have seemed to get stronger, more in-sync, and have upped the stamina and energy as the season has wound down.

The highest prediction I saw for this team in preseason was 15th in the conference. That was pre-injuries of course. Right now it looks like this team will move ahead of Washington today and into 12 place, maybe tied with USC who is losing to Nebraska.

And for a couple of announcers I don’t recall hearing before, they are doing a nice job
Nick Bahe is a Nebraska kid from here in Lincoln. Great high school basketball and football player. Walked on at Kansas for basketball and after 2 years transferred to Creighton. He has been in announcing since graduation. Only reason I know this is because my son went to school with him and played football with him. I think he is a very good basketball announcer.

I just worry this was a NIL stepping stone for players to more prosperous places.

They lit it up. People are watching.

I do not know, just wondering...

I know injuries have hurt us but its so funny how this team is how all my runs as a Gophers coach happened in College Hoops 2K8. I'd get the job, I'd cut every player I could until they wouldn't let me, so I'd have the top 8 or so guys. That first year every player gets HUGE minutes because we have no one else.

Guys get thrown in the fire, most suck and just get an ass kicking but a couple tend to progress and become decent players. Then the following season I take all my scholarships and start bringing in higher quality players.

It's ugly for 2-3 years but once you get your guys and then your veteran role guys are those 2-4 players from the early years who went through hell, you have a dangerous squad.

Niko is kind of doing that in real life and its great.

No point worrying about stuff like that. Niko is proving he can find guys that make his systems go and those systems work in the Big Ten so if guys leave I trust him to go find replacements.

Was only able to tune in for the last few minutes after following gamecast throughout. Another really nice win. This program is in good hands.
