My understanding is that injuries can affect the seeding. Not whether they make it in or not, but the seeding. Many pundits had them as one of the "last ones in." With Collinsworth (their best player) going down for the season with an ACL during the WCC tournament, many are wondering how they could have been made a 10 seed. (Essentially means the committee thought that BYU is better than at least 10 at-large teams without Collinsworth.) I think the complaints are more with the 10 seed, than with making it into the tournament.

I really came down to one more win. Its easy to point a finger at NW or Illinois, but we had MSU on the ropes, Purdue we should have won, Michigan the first game of the year...lots of opportunities. Its where we ended up. I say Go Gophers...make some noise in the NIT!
From the committee's comments afterward, and the lack of focus on Minnesota as one of the last teams out, I am no longer certain the home win vs Northwestern would've gotten us in. Another road or neutral win, probably yes. But had we beaten NW we might be sitting here more outraged than any of us thought possible.
