5-1, though it doesn’t feel good yet. But here we sit just 80 minutes from our first ESPN Events Invitational title. Sometimes getting out of our routine can be a good thing. We need to play much better than we have to get a win in Florida, let alone 2.

It will be fun to see us play against a few better teams. We need to at least split.

7’ 9” Florida Freshman Olivier Rioux will redshirt this season, so no chance of seeing him in a potential 2nd game.
 





The Shockers have played a schedule with 3/5 of what I’d call upper middles (W Ky, Northern Iowa, and St. Louis, who aren’t tournament teams, but are close to top 100 -non-cupcakes). Both combatants today fall in that upper middle category, too,

WSU has been very good at getting to the FT line and keeping turnovers low. They are good on the defensive glass, but appear below average on the offensive boards. They are a lesser 3-point team, both in terms of attempts and FG%. However their 3-point defense has been good.

Torvik has this as a 69-68 game for WSU, so, it’s a coin toss. This is a good opportunity to land on the right side of that coin.

Actually some of my best friends were from Wisconsin, but I never told them that they were friends.
I'll grow out of that soon, I hope.

Offense still looks bad. But that was a good entry feed to Dawson for the and 1.

Defensively my worry is they are already getting good transition and driving space. Been fortunate that Wichita has rushed a few shots at the rim they didn't need to

Nobody other than Asuma (and Garcia when he's not doubled) is willing or capable of driving to the basket.
