*** OFFICIAL MINNESOTA-NORTHWESTERN IN-GAME THREAD ***

where has K.J Maye been this game? saw him fall on the 2nd kickoff, but nothing after that

We have made some pretty ordinary running backs look very good. I hate to see what Ball does to us next week.
I'm planning on missing that one. I'm a glutton for punishment but not that much.Even with my life creed being better dead than red.

Wish we could have had Gray at receiver on that 4th down play....

Terrible play call. Lob to a true freshman with a QB that has zero touch on 4th down?

Really?

That is the BEST play call they've got?

Yikes.

Could we please see a replay of the Barker play? Drop? PI? Good defensive play?

Shortell is going to get somebody killed. I'm amazed that the WRs can hang on to some his throws because they are waiting on them so often.

The fade is at BEST a low percentage play, always has been. The fade is not a good 4th down call, especially given the players involved.

I think it is a 100% score if we committed to running all 4 downs on that 1st and goal.

The fade cost us the game against Kansas State in 1993... horrible 4th down playcall...

Limegrover is a hell of an idiot.

Stan, you rival him.

You realize there is a difference between running on 3rd and 1 and running on 3rd and 12, right?

Its like he bet on Northwestern.

Intercourse yourself.

Provide proof or crawl into the $hithole you belong in.

It is a good call when you have Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, etc.

They knew they were going for it on 4th down. You have a QB who has barely played all game. Run on 3rd. Then throw a slant on 4th.

Perfect world, run on 2nd. However, we can't snap the ball.

Still have a chance. NU is trying to give this game away.

Why these wide-out long balls - where are the tight ends or backs as targets?

Very good question. It seems that they have totally different playbooks for Gray and Shortell. I understand that there will be variations on a theme given the dramatically different styles of Gray and Shortell, but it's like the playbooks are in totally different languages.
