*** OFFICIAL MINNESOTA-NORTHWESTERN IN-GAME THREAD ***

To be honest, the D played lights out. They gave up 21 - but the first TD was in FG range when they took possession. 17 points to NW - that is one heck of an effort.

What happened to the 2-minute warning

Well, I think we can all agree that "Shortell as a viable Big Ten quarterback" is no longer a thing. If it ever was one.

We can change coaches, we can change players, we can change stadiums, but it's still gopher football.

Amen to that! It ensures I can get drunk on New Years Day and not worry about missing the big game. Besides, being a Gopher fan builds character.

Year two for Kill so a little slack for him. Shortell has played enough to not look that bad. Missed a sure TD as Gray did earlier. You just can't keep doing that. We need a QB, I sure hope Nelson is that guy.

I don't want anymore character. I just want the ball thrown near wide open players when they in the end zone.

In fairness, the defense did come back impressively in the second half - but what a slew of fumbles, injuries, penalties. A real mess of a game. But, as registered earlier, I didn't expect a Gopher victory. In fact, it was closer than I expected - so that is good.

Too many unforced mistakes on offense. Plain and simple. Missed receivers, fumbles, and drops.

Game of lost chances

In spite of what complete idiots think (FCG accusing coach of betting on opposition), this was a game of lost opportunity.

It will get better.

Our O line is young and injured, every other position of offense is 'okay' at best.

After a shaky start the D played very well.

I sure hope Nelson starts next year.

Haha. You've been trumpeting for Shortell all year!
