We can argue about who is the best QB for the long term, but it isn't even close who is the better QB for right now.

Exactly. We know Gray is flawed, but his strength running is better than the best Shortell can give us throwing. Max just has not shown he can make enough plays with his arm to make up for his lack of any real running threat. Hopefully he continues to get better, and gets the accuracy to make the simple plays more often. For now Gray is our best chance to win.

But, more importantly, I'm fine with burning redshirts, so long as the guys actually play. We've burned both of our freshman safties to play a little special teams. McDonald has caught 2 balls. We'll see what happens with Wiliams and Plsek. I'm fine with playing true freshman, but let's actually play them if they can help us win.

We are just killing ourselves. A lot of people were ready to give Weisman the Heisman two weeks ago. My guess is Mark will outdo Weisman's stats this week and Ball will outdo them both next week. We just aren't strong enough upfront on D and that is a huge problem.

Sad part is that Shortell is also more accurate than Gray. When playing a team with Bad to OK run defense and you don't need to throw much, use Gray. Against great run defenses put Shortell in there.
