Down memory lane we go.
I’m not even trying to argue with you my man. But why should we “accept” who we are? I’m sure Alabama/Auburn/etc are happy they didn’t. Ben is a good man, but this is too big of a job for him right now.Yes, they were but there's a lot of variation in the league. Michigan State is #1 in the league and 9--0. When has Minnesota been close to #1 in the 21st century? Eventually one has accept who they are. Most people have no problem accepting their own limitations but for some reason that doesn't extend to their preferred sports teams.

I hate to say it but I don’t think that’s true. Pitino brought in higher level talent/athletes here. Over the last 4 years New Mexico has been thoroughly better than MinnesotaPerhaps but this goes back much longer than Ben.

That's one word for it.....not the one I would pick....USAF can be irritable at times yes.
Agreed. Those 3s really ended the game at that point. We played better in the 2nd half and only lost it by 2 but we couldn't muster anything in the first half and kept shooting ourselves in the foot. We also couldn't defend the big in the pick and roll. Free lane to the hoop nearly every time. Time for a new winning streak!Back to the game: Obviously, we got blown off the court in the 2nd half of the First half, and that flurry from Holloman was a gut punch. Up to that point, in spite of horrible offense, defense was keeping us in the game. The first half illustrated the difference between an elite program and where we are at. There are probably only two Gophers who would be on the MSU roster (Garcia and Asuma).
They shot 20 FTs, we shot 6. Fox did not score in the game. We got out rebounded by a wide margin. Although we played a more legitimate second half, the hole we’d dug in the first was too deep, and there was a sense that Izzo could put his foot back on the gas whenever he wanted.
Bottom line: They are just a better team with an elite program, a hall of fame coach, better players, and one of the toughest places to play in the nation. I think it’s safe to predict we’re back in the win column against WA on Saturday. Go Gophers!
Typical loser attitude from twisted. Happily accepting continued subpar performance. But loves his name calling."Accept who they are??"
Good lord. What a crock of loser shit.
He coached one of hoiberg kidsWhat does Izzo say about Fred Hoiberg and Woodson?
When did they/them ever have a good post?I would love to know if posters like USAF are jerks in real life or if they just save it for message boards. It is just pathetic. I keep trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because sometimes he has decent posts but at this point I think he is a lost cause.
Twisted wants you to accept who are as a coping mechanism to his years of Ben Johnson bootlicking. If you accept who we are then Ben can’t be blamed. It’s an impossible task. This is the stance of a lot of former CBJ apologists, it’s just impossible to even hope for mediocrity.I’m not even trying to argue with you my man. But why should we “accept” who we are? I’m sure Alabama/Auburn/etc are happy they didn’t. Ben is a good man, but this is too big of a job for him right now.
MSU's schedule gets arduous now. We're going to see if they're really real.Yes, they were but there's a lot of variation in the league. Michigan State is #1 in the league and 9--0. Rigsby = FoxAsuma should start over Odukale or at least play a lot more. Betts should play more probably. Rigsby just brings nothing if he can't make 3's.
It's so young that the best players aren't even here yet.The future is bright with this extremely young Gophers squad.
Their schedule is definitely backloaded so will find out if they are top 10 good and a legit National title contender but after 26 straight trips to the NCAA tournament it is a pretty safe bet they are one of the better teams in the country this year.MSU's schedule gets arduous now. We're going to see if they're really real.
Other then skin color they're really nothing a like as playersRigsby = Fox
When you're team is getting raped without the lube that's really all you can do tbh. Tech really only gets you fired up if it's slipping way but you're still in the fight, the ole Clem jacket toss wouldn't of helped last night eitherIn my opinion its like we see a different coach on the road. Just stands around with his hands crossed, letting the other team go on a run without engaging. I wish he would show a little fight for his team on the side. Heck, even get a technical showing that he is in it for his guys. The standing around, arms crossed, looking like he is going to cry drives me crazy.
I don't disagree with you at all; for some reason it just drives me crazy watching him him stand around with his hands crossed with what seems like no care in the world. When you're team is getting raped without the lube that's really all you can do tbh. when games dont start out good offensively for this year Ben legit just looks like he throws in the towel without even trying anything different....I don't disagree with you at all; for some reason it just drives me crazy watching him him stand around with his hands crossed with what seems like no care in the world.
It's pretty simple. If the team was winning no one would care how Johnson was standing on the sideline. But since we are not winning it is just another thing to add to the list of complaints about Johnson and the state of the basketball program.I don't disagree with you at all; for some reason it just drives me crazy watching him him stand around with his hands crossed with what seems like no care in the world.
Maybe better recruits but that is it. Did you watch how the Pitino teams played, might as well go to Elliot Park to watch that brand of basketball.I hate to say it but I don’t think that’s true. Pitino brought in higher level talent/athletes here. Over the last 4 years New Mexico has been thoroughly better than Minnesota
Asuma has near starter minutes. Odukala is one of the best defenders and rebounders on the team. If any starter should sit, IMO, it should be Patterson. He dribbles away a lot of minutes without looking to pass or penetrate. His shooting percentages is horrible.Asuma should start over Odukale or at least play a lot more. Betts should play more probably. Rigsby just brings nothing if he can't make 3's.
Agree, Odukale isn't a traditional point guard by any means but he is bringing a lot to the team when he is on the court. Patterson is playing better than he did early in the season but if Asuma is going to take minutes from anyone it is probably him.Asuma has near starter minutes. Betts? Still a question mark. He is mistake-prone, but is that solely due to a lack of PT?

Early on in Fleck's tenure there were people that got completely bent out of shape about the running to the new LOS between quarters....now it hardly ever gets brought up because he has had a good run at Minnesota.
Back when Mason was here the cameras always caught him looking up with a lost look when things started going sideways in games....You are correct here and he's a better coach than what I'm about to say.....but, it is amazing how many times the camera catches him with arms crossed looking upward at the scoreboard. He's a compulsive scoreboard watcher. I've found drinking at every occurrence to be a great drinking game.
If they continue to be marginal from 3, its going to be tough sledding.MSU's schedule gets arduous now. We're going to see if they're really real.
