As I always say, I like my crowds like I like my women: small and loud.

Much is being made of the crowd and its loudness and the home-court advantage. My benchmark is the mid-to-late 90s. That building literally shook in those days, so I'm hard to impress. But for the size of the audience, we did pretty well tonight. I'll take the coach at his word that it was good and made a significant difference, and I love to hear that.

Loved the motor and effort out of Grove tonight. Good call out on Reynolds having a Grier like game. Hopefully he can build on that and keep it going. Nice to see Durkin hitting shots and having a little swagger. Maybe a game like this is all he needs to get going. If Asuma can play like that regularly he'll be a good one. Tyson was Tyson. If the guys around him can help with scoring consistently we will have some good games to watch this winter. They might not win a lot but they should be entertaining. All around a fun game.

Maybe it's my familiarity with Cory Provus but I thought he did an extremely good job on the PBP call. I was very impressed with his work tonight.

I'm usually not a big fan of Hummel in general but I didn't notice any IU partisan slant from him in this game.

Cory is a consummate professional as are virtually all the radio play by play baseball guys. You have to be good to do radio sports and the season is just too long to survive on schtick.

Hummel is a Purdue guy. Suggesting he might have partisan bisses toward IU is like saying I might have biases towards Skunkville because I live 20 minutes from Wisconsin. The bitterness runs deep down there. Boilers despise Hoosiers.

Objectively, I think Robbie is rising to the top of his profession. He does a boatload of games and always seems prepared and he obviously knows the game well and is entertaining while being understated.

Loved Durkin on the O end.. the ball never was stuck in his hands.. anticipate, read and react.. he kept the ball moving and he kept moving…they ran some good action and got Durkin some good looks.. fun to ser

I am with you regarding Hummel. He has grown so much from when he first started. I think he is really good. As one of the former players who do color for College BB he is, IMO, one of the better ones.
 

There have been some here that have skewered Durkins for his lack of defensive play. Cade Tyson is terrible. His switches are brutal, once he does he then runs all over the court, he needs to get up in the guys chest every now and then. Maybe try to deny the guy you are supposed to be guarding the ball once in a while.

With that being said, AWESOME WIN for the Gopher!!!!!

I really like Phons when he is calling games. I especially like him when he is in studio with Seth Greenberg.

His blocked shot was amazing. I was shocked at his speed and also the vertical - I didn't know he had either. Good to see.
 


Considering the week this team was coming off, this was a great win. Very good defensive effort! Loved to see them get stops when they needed to, force some tough shots and clear defensive rebounds. Also good to see them run through their offense and make shots when they needed to. This is why, despite the odds, you go ahead and play the games.

Not feeling confident about the Purdue game, but it's good to see that the coach and players can rise to the occasion against a good team. What a fun game to watch!

Yes, but they provided valuable breather minutes and they rebounded and played defense. They also had only 1 turnover among the three of them in a combined 21 minutes. Pretty good considering the team had 16 turnovers overall.

Assuming that's true, Wisconsin wasn't that great when he coached. Clem coached MN from the 1987 season until the 1999 season. Wisconsin had one 20-win season, five overall winning seasons, two .500 seasons, and six losing seasons in that time span.
 



What a great win! I thought the lack of depth would cause the starters to hit a wall. Great game plan, not doubling and giving up threes. The offense was fun to watch. Reynolds can make big shots, like others have said comparing him to V Greer.

Also, a decent match up for the gophers that Indiana's big are not athletic. As much as I like Tyson, Durkin, and JCJ, they are undersized and unathletic compared to any other ranked big ten team. The team could really use a healthy Omot right now.
