This could be a huge momentum swing either way.Illinois is right to go for it.

100% Illinois is only playing 1 high safety on every playThis is the game where our passing game has to perform well or we lose. Illinois is stacking the DL and blitzing. Running 75% of the time while are behind equals automatic loss to Illinois. Tanner needs to unload quickly with the pressure he faces. And our routes must be designed for quick throws. Illinois is playing with great mental toughness; we aren’t.
They're dropping one back as soon as the ball is snapped on long yardage but yeah.100% Illinois is only playing 1 high safety on every play
I want them to punt, but if I'm Illinois, I want them to go for it. We haven't stopped them yet. They just have to fall forward and they have a first down and huge momentum. If Illinois goes for this I think it’s a stupid decision. If we stop them here they let us back in the ball game. Not sure we can stop them though…
Please!Punt it Illinois
IL has played the one high safety most of the time on early downs all season. Shouldn't have been a shocker to the staff coming in eitherTwo things driving me crazy:
- Throwing on second and long. The linebackers are sprinting back into coverage as soon as the ball is snapped. Just run the ball and position an achievable third down.
- Running on first. They are literally putting a safety on the edge on first down. Throw against the inevitable single coverage.
Serious questions. Why do we even bother putting a punt returner back there? Just add the person to the line and try and block the punt.Damn I wish we could catch punts!!!
Yeah, Annexstad is a liability. It’s unbelievable they aren’t better at this position.Damn I wish we could catch punts!!!
Fire Sanford. Firing a coordinator after an embarrassing loss to Illinois worked last time.Goddamnit Sanford.
