*** OFFICIAL GOPHERS-WISCONSIN GAME THREAD ***

Andre is frustrating sometimes in transition defense, he loses his guy more than anyone. Happy to see he is being somewhat aggressive on offense do far. Need him playing great on both ends

Tubby rotating that bench a little more today, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't done the "All 5" thing so far (unless I missed it which is possible), which is good.

Just need to make sure this Sconny run doesn't turn into a situation where we start pressing and forcing stuff, creating more turnovers.

Rodney is cold from outside, might want to consider passing instead of shooting.

Rodney just wandering aimlessly around the floor again today. Doesn't even look like he wants the ball.

Previous possession, Andre was on the right wing with the ball and had an open avenue to the paint...His man was beaten...but he refused to take it...Instead he lingered outside the the arc and passed to Rodney who then shot a brick...Why won't Andre drive into the paint???

Gophers shot selection needs to improve if they are going to win this game.

Marshall did exactly what Andre won't do...drive into the paint...Good things happen!@

Oh crap. Tubby calls time out. This should be good, can't wait to see this play -- if we get it inbounds.

I thought that final two seconds only happened to the Gophers.

Hopefully that swings the momentum in our favor.

That was an obvious foul, but the grinch doesn't think his team ever fouls.

Can someone answer this: Why do we play with a big lineup (Rodney at the 3), yet no one even tries to post up? We play like we've got a 4-guard lineup with the bigs in there. Makes no sense what so ever.

Austin is also very dissappointing in this game...He's been guarded by Ben Brust and most people say Brust is a liability on defense. Austin hasn't even tried taking him off the dribble once.

If the Gophers are going to contend for a win today, Austin MUST attack.

We gotta get some offense from Austin Hollins though, he's 0-4 so far. I feel like he'll be in position to hit some big outside shots for us in the 2nd half, so hopefully he's ready for them.

Pretty decent half, liked how Tubby got the subs in the game without taking all of the starters off the court.

We won the Turnover Battle 8-5 and are still just tied. They out-rebounded us 13-10. Crazy!

I think we bar too many "nice guys." I love this team but guys like Austin and Andre don't appear to be guys that just see a mismatch and destroy them. They are almost too team orientated

They do try. Trev in the paint, plants a screen for Rodney, Rodney tries to post up in the paint, but if it's not there, it's designed for him to move to the opposite wing.

What is Rodney's shooting pct.? 15% I guess if you don't count dunks? Let Dre shoot all the shots - no one esle can shoot (Maybe Mav today)

Tough to watch the Tubby Smith Standing Offense at the end of the 2nd half. It was the main reason for Wisconsin getting back in the game. We make it far too easy for Wisconsin to play defense when we stand and look at each other and wonder who's supposed to do what. Lucky that Andre was fouled and we end the half with a tie score. Here's to hoping we start moving on offense in the 2nd half. We are a better team when we move the ball on offense.

Solid 1st half. Taking care of the ball. Just have to make more shots. We are in good shape so far. C'mon Gophs!

Part of the problem with half court offense is there is no movement and no screens to get open. Except for weak attempts at high post pick and rolls, we never make any contact on screens and the cutters don't cut hard or run their guy into the screens. That's also why our out of bounds plays are so pathetic, we just run around with no purpose-- like it's a walk through practice with no defense.

I think going for 41 on a squad means Dre is a guy who is more than willing to destroy guys. He's got 11 of the 24 so far, so I'm not sure how much more you were expecting him to do in this half.
