***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

That one bogus incomplete pass completely screwed us. Thompson had a huge return off of it. Instead, they get three points. Such bull****. Why do the refs always try to screw us over? It was ****ing obvious on the replay!

Haven't heard Wolitarsky or Fruechte's names at all today. I thought all of the scouting reports said that we should be able to take shots at these guys and beat them on some big gains.

Don't blame this on Liedner, it's not like he's had much of a chance to work on the passing game (during a real game). This is why I get upset when they don't work on the passing game against the cupcake teams. Because when we really need it, we can't do it.

Announcer: "it's the highest scoring game in Purdue/minnesota history... Since 1997"

If you'd have told me yesterday, that we'd have 20 points at the half, i would have gladly taken it and felt great about it. Gonna have to dig pretty deep to salvage this one.

Why? Because it didn't work? Two drop back passes and a middle screen that usually works.

Yeah. Have you noticed we've been running the ball, had timeouts, and didn't need a ton of yardage to get into FG range. Two of the throws were drop back passes that we just haven't been able to complete with much frequency all year.

It's really simple guys. Leidner can't pass if his first read isn't there. He is late on a lot of throws. The only time he looks competent is on a PA bootleg with half the field eliminated and only one read.

How does every team have a better QB than we do?

Good question, but it's quite true...Appleby looks like a Pro prospect. Has only missed two passes all game, if you don't count the one offsides. Rest have been near perfect. Meanwhile, Leidner has either thrown it a second late or out of bounds on over half of his pass attempts; and the Gophers' running game has gone into a shell since the Cobb fumble.

If we lose this game and you thought I was an unpleasant asshole before. You're in for a treat.

Wow....what happened to our defense? I'll wait and see, but I don't see our D stopping them at all.

And on offense, come on, mix it up!

This is no "trap" game, we're being handed our asses. Will find out how good a coach Claeys is right now.

pretty effing obvious that is a fumble...STOOOOPID

Our defensive backs should be completely ashamed of themselves. Their wide receivers are physically beating the he// out of them.

So you're complaining we didn't run the ball? If we run there and get stuffed three times in a row people would be complaining about that. I'm frustrated with the play calling as well but I've come to the conclusion that in some situations if we aren't successful, people are just going to blame the play calling.

Folks, Mitch has not looked good but let's put the spotlight where it belongs this game - the defense. Whether it is the play calling, preparation, adjustments, or effort, it is the defense (coaches and players) that is not doing their job. Who would have thought that with 3 first half touchdowns by our offense we would be down 11 at half? We have yet to stop Purdue's offense. Embarrassing 1st half. Second half we have a chance to make adjustments and come out flying and turn this total negative into a positive by rallying for a win.

Historical it seems Claeys is good at making halftime adjustments, hopefully this holds true.
