***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS PURDUE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Anyone else feel the same was we did vs TCU? except.... Were playing Purdue, 31 pts in first half. Wow

I don't see Purdue playing this well all game. They aren't use to being in this position. If we score first in the second half I like our chances.

B1G refs saving face for a horrible call by pretending the review didn't show how much they screwed the Gophers. What a sham of a crew. The zebra wall is alive and well at TCF today.

There have been a bunch of "turning points" in this game. Cockran's offsides, the missed extra point, the missed fumble recovery on the kickoff, the Cobb fumble (didn't his arm hit the ground, and the ground can't cause a fumble??)...but THIS, this terrible, terrible sham, is directly going to cost the Gophers this game. No one ever again, on this board, should say that the refs don't affect games or good teams overcome bad reffing. This is a potential 10-point swing, that is clearly unfair. Purdue keeps momentum, Gophers can't regain it. Gophers put in a situation where their offense HAS to score to win, and that's not their game. Terrible calls like this DO completely decide the outcome of games.

We score on the opening position and revision in "D" make difference. Gophers by ten!

Plus our kick returner is pretty terrible I've heard. Don't think we've ever run kicks back.

Ahh sarcasm, fantastic. The way this game is going I would have done what Kill did. Won't change my mind.

Defense has looked confused and is tackling poorly. Also, the timing on Mitch's passes are horrible. If he had better timing, not all of his passes would get batted down.

Linebacker play has been awful.

We're still in the game. We get the ball back. If we go down by 3 or 4 possessions then I'm going to mow the lawn.

Maybe Jerry decided to spot them the lead today because he's sick of hearing about losing 22 of 22 trailing and winning 22 of 22 when leading, but didn't want to buck the trend in the opposite direction.

*Have we really never been tied at halftime??

Time for the biggest come back in Gopher history....since 2001. : )

Seemingly everything has gone against the gophers on the first 30 minutes. Let's see how the 2nd half pans out before we forfeit the rest of our games.

You'll learn eventually that the curse of Gopher sports never loses.

This. Add to it the curse of Vikings football, Gopher basketball, TWolve basketball, and Minnesota pro hockey, and you have completed what it's like to be a Minnesota sports fan.

I think we haven't lost when tied or leading.

I thought it was that we were undefeated when leading or tied at the half but I could be wrong. Not sure which game we were tied in.

Gonna stay positive. Let's pound the rock, get back in this game, make a defensive stop and pound some more for the lead. That's it...easy right?

This is where we find out if we're really contenders or pretenders. If we're good, or just lucky.

Tough to make comebacks when we have not had a QB who can throw the ball.. and we don't practice the art of the forward pass. When we play the sisters of the poor in the non conference.. we should throw it on every possession so we know what we have instead of waiting until we are losing in a big ten game

The cockran offsides and the missed extra point are on the gophers not the refs. Those were not made up penalties. The gophers need to clean up their sloppy play.

So you're complaining we didn't run the ball? If we run there and get stuffed three times in a row people would be complaining about that. I'm frustrated with the play calling as well but I've come to the conclusion that in some situations if we aren't successful, people are just going to blame the play calling.

Pretty simple. Do what works. Don't do what doesn't work.

Why is everyone acting like we need to go air raid offense to overcome this 11 points with a whole half left?

Defense has looked confused and is tackling poorly. Also, the timing on Mitch's passes are horrible. If he had better timing, not all of his passes would get batted down.

You can blame that on so few game reps in the gimme games. But hey, we run the ball to win by 10 points in gimme games, and the glossed-over homers on this board slam me for asking why we don't work on the passing game. THIS is why - because when we need it we don't have it.

Time for a streak to end! Get it done in the second half.
