***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

Strev has amazing moves. He almost broke his own ankles on that one.

Celestin looks pretty damn good, he's a sure tackler.

Everett Williams is another true freshman playing now. Probably because of Rallis's injury earlier.

Sort of flipped the script with a strong first half and weak second half. Thankfully got out far enough in the first and able to run the ball enough in the second half to keep MTSU from catching up.

Unfortunately this game has not done anything to dispell the concerns in the passing game and now we get to see if Leidner's injury is just a minor thing or something more significant. Always nervous to see anything knee related.

Haven't been able to watch the game...has Elmore played?

Myrick...it was a nice hit...of course the receiver held on and almost got the first down so maybe didn't need a dance there

He's done that a couple times today, pretty obnoxious.

Yes. Other than Richardson the true freshmen D-Line look pretty sluggish in my opinion. It's too bad these guys have to play significant snaps so early with all of the injuries.

They definitely were sucking air in the 2nd half. We aren't going to win many more games if we don't get push up front or contain the QB, and have a poor passing game to boot. Happy with the win, but we were clearly the better team and had some mental lapses in the 2nd half to make the game closer than it should have been.

If Eric Murray would look back to the ball, he'd have a ton of INTs. Well, maybe not a ton, but at least a wheelbarrow full.

Very disappointing second half. 67 yards passing is pathetic. Unfortunately it is overshadowing Cobbs' awesome performance.

Surprised at how bad the defense played also. After the Ekpe sack it went way downhill. The secondary was not good.

He'd also get burnt a lot more too. There's positives and negatives to both.

Reminded me of last year when there were times Limegrover seemed afraid to even try throwing the ball. I get that we ran the ball well today, but it would've been nice to sacrifice some of those runs to work on the passing game. As it stands, we go to TCU next week with minimal proven success in the passing game. Definitely concerning.

Solid first half and a lot of things to take from the 2nd half that can be worked on. Should be a good test at TCU next week and help really get an idea of where we are at, definitely gonna need to do a better job of tackling and keeping the QB in the pocket.

I would rather forget the second half and the half a$$ed effort

The DL did not do a good job of staying in their gaps. I don't know how many times we had three or four guys on one side. We made it so easy for the QB to step up and get a clean view of the field.

I find it hard to believe we're playing a couple of 260-270 pounders in Stelter and N-L at tackle. Also Gary Moore over Peppers and Legania, what does this say? Fundamental tackling was suspect which had been a strong point under Claeys. I'm going to write it off as a an aberration.

The offensive play-calling was curious at best. Don't know if that's Limey or Leidner. Don't answer.

Yeah Myrick celebrating a hit even though they got the first irked me, but not as much as 10 guys on that missed field goal. It wasn't rushed, the TV timeout guy was on the field and they had plenty of time to count. Sloppy!!!

2-0...am I wrong? Next week will be a big challenge, but could also be a historic win...
