***OFFICIAL GOPHERS VS HAWKEYES GAME THREAD!!!!!!!!***

Andre Hollins is a spot-up jumper - and that's it. He can't dribble in traffic, he's not fast, he doesn't pass, he doesn't defend - he's a jump shooter.

And if he's not making shots, he's useless.

Cheer up TCF...It's just a game, right?

That was the worst half of basketball I've seen from a Gophers team in the Pitino era. There have been worse performances on the scoreboard, but never this combination of PATHETIC performance and (more importantly) ZERO effort. It's obvious even watching on television that something is seriously wrong with this team tonight. The lineup change obviously hit the wrong note, and I almost hope that's what caused the 20 minutes of sleepwalking I just watched. I can't imagine guys like Mo, DeAndre, and Carlos losing their spots while Joey King did not sat well with much of the team. Mo in particular almost seems to be sending a message with his complete lack of effort tonight.

They'll come out this second half playing great defense and shooting great. (I hope, I hope, I hope.)

EE. What has happened to him? Horrible. He was better as a redshirt fresh. Can't wait for our seniors to move on.

I do gotta say that Fran is one of my favorite B1G coaches, the dude gets it.

seriously? Dude is the biggest whiner in the conference. His team got ALL the calls in the first half ON THE ROAD! And he's still melting down! He's the only coach that challenges Bo Ryan for least likable in the conference for me.

He's the same as his freshman year...we expected him to get better and he never has.

I'd much rather be losing by 30 with guys that play hard, rather than lose by 10 without seeing an ounce of effort.

What the heck can Pitino even say to these guys at halftime? This is hard to take.

I just hope Pitino can keep it together.

This may sound insane, but I still believe the Gophers can win this game. Iowa has dominated in the first half (the score actually could be worse), played a frantic style in the first half that isn't their norm, and has expended a lot of energy in the process. They have even more depth issues than Minnesota. We'll know within the first 10 minutes I suppose.

Still hope to see Bakary and/or Gaston in the second half. Why not?

That's why we might as well play Gaston & Konate. Can they play any worse than EE? They would probably love to be playing.

Agree chemistry is a mess. But lack of effort because you don't start, give me a break. Sure on a 3-1 or 4-0 team not 0-4 team. If I coach and that is Mo's signal he's done for the night.

While there have been some mental lapses by a number of players, I wouldn't say that they aren't playing hard. This is a pretty frantic game.

And people wonder why Gopher fans keep waiting for the letdown. It's because it always happens. Aren't we long overdue for success? When was our last a) local star recruit that couldn't wait to be a Gopher; b) new player that plays way over their expected ceiling; c) serious injury that ends up being a minor deal with a quick recovery; d) game where all the close calls go our way; etc. We're due some good luck.

Fran will get a T tonight. It's boiling.

This team blows. What am I going to do all winter?

At this point only Rutgers, PSU, Northwestern, Purdue and Nebraska appear winnable. We might take 4 of 5 and steal one more. 6 wins is probably the ceiling. Go team.

I don't know what rock bottom is. I wanna say you're never as bad as you are when you're ar your worst, but are we at our worst yet?
