He say's that it is free throw % that is irrelevant not free throws. It is a ridiculous concept when it comes to a game like this. Everything matters.

I believe his point on free throws was that high free throw percentage is not correlated with winning a lot of games. Basically, you can be great at shooting free throws and still be a crappy team, and you can be crappy at shooting free throws and still be a great team.
