Official 2027 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

He was drafted in 3 sports (and 4 leagues).

Despite never playing organized football, the Vikings drafted him with the idea of turning him into a tight end.

He once led the Big Ten in rebounding. College World Series MVP.
I think I saw he was drafted in the 17th round of the NFL draft!

Blake Betton has a crystal ball to Penn State. Maybe that’s why they have already lined up 3 visits from safeties. A week or two ago he was high on the Gophers. I wonder what changed?

According to 247 the Gophers have lined up 10 visits for May 29th including Walley’s brother.

Big prospects include S Andre Hypolite from Florida. Offers from Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Indiana (still weird including them with the big boys). Walley's got Missouri and Ole Miss offers. Bryce Kish a LB out of Michigan has offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Cal and others. Taylor Daniels another S out of NJ has offers from Florida State, Maryland Duke and BC among others. All visitors with multiple P4 offers.

It’s always exciting to see these kids visit/commit early on and then track their rating/stats as the year goes on. Around this time last year Aytch wasn’t even rated and debuted shortly after as an 86. Lots of good talent with good offers coming in to visit.

Not a fan of likely missing out on this one as Campbell will continue to recruit well in the area.

It will diminish over time as he loses touch/contact with upper Midwest kids. Right now, they still know him and his staff from camps/offers.

It will be interesting if the Gophers get as many commits out of the first Summer Splash weekend as they have in the past given they've moved it up earlier in the calendar. As always, we'll have a couple kids commit that we're excited about who end up de-committing later in the process. Will that be a larger number of kids because the commitments take place even earlier?

I'll say it again...was Campbell really pulling that many guys away from us when he was at ISU? I don't remember it being a lot.

Quickly looked back on 247 for MN kids back to 2022. I only see 2 that had a MN offer. 2022, Deylin Hasert. 2023, Carson Hansen was a higher rated recruit but didn't have a MN offer. 2024, Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman.

That's all I found for MN kids with a very quick look. Maybe there's others from surrounding states I'm not recalling but it doesn't seem like PJ was losing too many head to head battles with MC....others can do more research if they care more lol

Yes but Maxy said Campbell will continue to recruit well here. I'm saying he hasn't recruited well here in the past.
ISU/Campbell have definitely offered a lot of guys from this area but haven't landed a ton of them. May have more pull now that he is at Penn State but as someone else mentioned they probably won't recruit this area as hard as they used to either.

Right. He's got the war chest and PSU cache to recruit everywhere in the country. Will pop in for a special player or 2 but probably no worse than OSU or MSU.
