How much do we think michigan said they’d pay this kid and do you think they guaranteed he’d start next year?

I read (I can't remember where) that it was in the neighborhood of 10 million dollar NIL deal....surpassing Shadeur Sanders as the highest ever....

Kaveon Lee was the only official visitor this weekend and he is expected to commit to the Gophers over Purdue. That might be the last addition to the class. Perry Cole who is a Junior College DT will decide between UNLV and TCU and he never did visit. They should be in good shape with the other guys who verbally committed, however things can change. They will go after DT players in the transfer portal.

Grayton signed with Kentucky and Marshall with GT. Interesting GT has flipped a couple of our Georgia commits in the past couple years now. I wonder if these were silent verbals or if Fleck was aware. Marshall looks good, but we did add another rb in this class and have a couple we added last year, and safety is not an immediate need.

WHO? Where did this come from? Any bets on whether he'll be on the roster come August? Guessing he didn't sign yet.
Grabbed him after Marshall flipped to GaTech today. He was scheduled to visit the second week of the "Summer Splash" but his visit was cancelled when they filled up at RB. Didn't appear to have any other big offers (at least that were currently commitable) when the Gophers re-offered a scholarship today.

Crazy how little attention recruiting gets now with the portal season right around the corner. I still think it's crucially important for the Gophers to do well in high school recruiting and feel like we fell short in this cycle in terms of both National ranking and just looking at the offer lists of some of our guys.

That said, Fleck and co. did a fantastic job locking down Minnesota kids this year (and a great start to '26 too) and that should be commended. To do that on the heels of a 5-7 year suggests to me that this is a sustainable improvement they've made. I hope we can see a National ranking closer to 30 next year than the 50 plus it will likely end up this year.

One interesting note is that two of our early Oline commits that ended up de-commiting ended up being big time recruits. McGuire (sp?) and Staucausky (sp?) ended up 4 star 90 plus kids for Texas A&M and Oregon respectively. Good finds by the staff, but they both end up staying far closer to home at schools know to have huge NIL pools.

To your last point, it's one of the things that continues to give me hope. PJ and staff do an excellent job at finding guys before they blow up and get in early. Some they hang on to (Bateman, Koi, etc.) while some they don't.

Gives me hope that the guys in the room and incoming have those developmental traits.

Already signed.

He's a mid 3 star kid who at one point had P4 offers from BC, Northwestern and Syracuse. That fact our last minute plan B guys are this level is impressive. I remember when this could be plan A guy throughout the years.

This guy is one of those guys you keep an eye on and just hope he turns into a great player. This is what I like about recruiting. I wish him the all the best here at the U.
