Official 2025 Conference Championship Weekend thread

What a game. Yep they let another hold go, guys. Just wake up?

Let’s go Indy…drive 96 yards

I'm a broken record but I am constantly stunned by Cignetti and Indiana. They started this season as the losingest program in CFB history.

And not only are they hanging with the defending champs. They're now leading them. Incredible.
Nonsense. Multiple geniuses here have repeatedly told me Indiana is a fraud, only benefiting from a weak schedule. They'll be crushed the first time they play anyone with a pulse.

IU’s defense is fantastic, but this game really highlights my frustration with the Heisman Trophy process - watch OSU play and they have at least 10 players who are better than Sayin, yet he’s arguably the front runner to win the award for the best player in the country? Dumb.

This is why I think only conf champ should get a bye. Make it mean something.

I know I'm in a minority in this.
That's what it was, last year.

Bunch of people bitched about it, now it's top seed teams, which in theory could all come from same conference (won't happen, but nothing stopping it).

That aspect has now made the conference championship completely pointless.

It used to be a very important thing. Winning the Big Ten was the main achievement of the season, and then it mean you got to go to the Rose Bowl. (Win that, and you had a good shot at being voted #1.)

Now, with 12 and will be 16 team playoffs, and with it being just the top two teams of a divisionless setup ... tough for me to ever see either team in the Big Ten championship game not going to the playoff.

Pointless to play the game at all.

Yeah, there is no future for conference championships games in the expanded playoff. The participating teams are affected differently depending on their rankings. Alabama could have been better off not playing today. Now they are in an awkward spot. OSU and Indiana are high enough that a loss wouldn't remove them. So for some teams, the conference championship game is really just a play-in. Others, it's just an opportunity to get injured.

Yeah. I don't think we're really seeing the affects of their NIL influx yet. This is mostly Cignetti and staff.
Indiana’s skill guys on offense: QB Mendoza rated low 3* 82 out of HS (Cal). Developed well, rated 93 as a transfer. WR Elijah Sarratt was NOT RATED out of HS (St. Francis in PA). Rated 90 as a transfer. WR Charlie Becker a 3* 88 committed to Indiana. WR Jonathan Brody rated 80 out of HS (New Mexico State). Transferred to Cal. Rated as an 85 when he transferred to Indiana. TE Riley Novakowski was NOT RATED out of HS. Walked on at WI. Rated 85 as a transfer. RB Roman Hemby rated 83 out of HS (Maryland); rated 89 as a transfer. RB Kaelon Black rated 79 out of HS (JMU) and 88 as a transfer. The Gophers on paper have far better offensive skill recruits out of HS compared to this group. But Cignetti and highly-paid coordinators are very special.
It’s about player development. It’s about conditioning. It’s the mentality and focus the coordinators. It’s about scheme. It’s aggression not tentative play. It’s about building confidence by winning handily all the games you should win, and fighting with everything you’ve got in the games you are supposed to lose.

Ohio State will come out of this better if they lose.

The pressure will be off as it was last year after losing to Michigan.

No one will be talking about them and they will be a tougher out than if they win.

It's just a popularity contest!

Don't be ridiculous. It's entirely NIL megabucks. Mark Cuban ... blah blah blah. Cignetti is a fraud.

I don’t know about that. Their offense isn’t nearly as lethal as it was last year. If they don’t win it all it’s because of that side of the ball. They’re about to give up 13 and lose.

There will be no pressure and everyone will write them off.

That's playing right into their hands........just like last year.

I found our kicker for next year. He's going to portal to us from OSU

It never occurred to me until just now maybe he had some money riding on that 🤷‍♂️. Think of the payout ona gimme kick.

OSU, should they go on to lose will have every opportunity to redeem themselves.
