My personal opinion is there is a lot of recency bias in the CFP (or any) power rankings so Alabama getting destroyed and say, Indiana getting run off the field in similarly embarrassing fashion could reset everything.

And not only are they hanging with the defending champs. They're now leading them. Incredible.

I think Indiana’s sustained success the last 2 years shows the bias we all suspected with recruiting / transfer class rankings.
