Official 2013 Class Recruiting Updates Thread

Confirmed. Just received a text from Indiana TE Nate Wozniak saying he's committed to #Minnesota over Miami (Fl.). 6-10 TE everybody.

Good Get!!!!

I love this strategy.
Kill/Limegrover appear comfortable using very large TE's who function primarily as blockers and short yardage receivers.
These kids likely are targeted as OT prospects by 90% of programs and the idea of retaining their pass catching position has got to be a big time draw.
Plsek could be a 280 lb guy eventually, I'd bet Goodger is 270 now, Wozniak could be a 300 lber once he develops.
Love it. Almost a Jim Harbaugh strategy of finding unusual size mismatches and using them to grind and fuel a PA game.

Kill's first Gopher commit from the state of Indiana, and our first since James Manuel in 2009. A positive step, since we could really use more midwest guys to be less reliant on FL/TX.

Also good news in that our stable of potential professional wrestlers has increased by one. 6'10? I think he could start at PF next year.

It's basically those two, Raphael Webb, Tedric Thompson, and Reggie Spreaman, at least as far as scholarship goes. Kill is clearly not someone for signing day drama, as I recall last year being extremely predictable as well.

Can't teach size. At the very least, he should be a good fade route guy on the goal line. He has some solid offers. Welcome Nate!

Where did you hear buzz about Neiko Robinson? I haven't really seen anything about him being wishy washy on PSU.

With his size, wouldn't we expect Wolitarsky to play primarily on the outside.

His lack of top speed suggests that most of his routes will be across the middle. Also, with a run-oriented offense like ours, it's imperative that the inside receiver be able to run block outside linebackers and in-the-box safties on occasion. Someone like Marcus Jones isn't going to get us there.

What?!? God, I hope not. We return our entire offensive line + Pirsig, Hayes, and Bobeck and we're going to be playing a true freshman offensive lineman. No.

It should be abundantly clear by now that Mr. Spearman likes attention and free visits. Not that I blame him for that.

I know many don't like Twitter but Spearman is playing all the Illinois, Iowa, MN fans against each other. He retweets ALL their Neg comments about each other. Guess he loves the fans fighting over him.

Spearman loves attention and apparently is always on Twitter. I would take him but with 4 LBs already committed I would rather use the remaining scholarships on DBs.

And you "think" this why? I think he is Iowa City bound but just curious why you're dogging the kid, he would be a great pick up.

Whether he is or not (and I agree with you), I am confident in Kill and company's ability to spot and weed out the head cases and problem children.

That tells me enough right there. Think about why a kid would choose Iowa City?
