I think Muss is too full of himself.

After watching him run on the court and then jumping on top of the table like "look what I did!" , didn't rub me the right way.

SEC is the right place for him. They like big ego's like that, and they will pay dearly in Fayetteville to have some kind of winner in something that matters.
You realize who our football coach is right? Haha

I want someone like Boeheim. Someone that has had a lot of success and decides to have some kids late in life, but I want all the kids to be sharpshooting boys that come and play here. That's all I'm asking.
Had kids late in life...’cause he did a reload of the wife.

Hey if the guy wins 1000 games, I’m good with him being a booger eater too

Boeheim has really calmed down on the sideline. I guess being 76 will do that to a guy, but I agree on his approach. Has a system and recruits to it. Always seems to get the most out of his teams.

Why? I have no idea, just curious if this is a feeling or based on some statements from him.

Coming with Niko gets him back home in Minn, probably the lead recruiter for in-state talent (I assume?), perhaps what he enjoys most, without the pressure of being the head man? I made that up, could easily be wrong. But just to throw something out there.
Why what? It would make sense for CSU to promote from within and Thorsen isn't turning down a head coaching job.

The odd thing about Boeheim is he has been very average over the last 7 years. They've been a middle of the pack ACC team, with a conference record of 65-56.

But over that same period of time, he has been to a final four and two sweet 16's.

BTW, I'm removing Eric Musselman as my top wish-list pick.

He reminds people too much of his dad, which means the 1972 Brawl will be revisited again & again. I, for one, don't need that.
Seriously? Most people have no memory of either and the ones that do are the ones that want Musselman the most.

He's also been "ready to retire" for a decade. Hopkins was coach in waiting for 5 years or so before he went to Washington.

I want a coach with fire and that’s Musselman!! No more average joe nice guys like Pitino. That was 8 years wasted.

Of course a lot candidates said no. Pitino was the first yes after 8 no’s. I love gopher hoops but the job is not that appealing.
It’s unlikely a lot said no. It is a Big Ten job and will be very appealing. And, even if appealing it does not mean a lot of people want to leave their current situation. If people are winning where they are at, and it’s their program now, many stick where they are. Doesn’t mean they view a job as unappealing.

We do not need it to be the most attractive job to everyone , just one. Show me the guy that has built something and that he dreams of this opportunity where no one ever built sustainable success and hire him.
Out of these speculative candidates, who is that guy?

Effing ridiculous. Coyle isn't doing "practice" interviews.
Of course it's not ridiculous, especially in the context of the second point that you purposefully deleted.

Says who? If he did himself, fine. That's what I'm asking. I gave a plausible reason why he may not prefer that.

I think you are going to be disappointed. Got a pretty good feeling Coyle is making the hire before Musselman plays next.....

Yes, seriously.

I'm 71 & the brawl happened the year after I graduated, but I still had a student season pass for that year and was one of the, at least half a million by recent count, fans that was at that game. A near fight almost took place at halftime when Luke Witte (the innocent victim) elbowed Bob Nix as he was leaving the court.

During my time at the U, I saw John Kundla's last year (5-time NBA champion & HOFer).
Then two years of Bill Fitch (1-time NBA champion coach).
Then George Hanson (not elite),
Before Bill Musselman brought his traveling show to Minnesota.

I don't know how to respond to this, except that Eric is not Bill. I joked about having him interviewed by a psychiatrist, but in all reality he's shown himself to be an exceptional coach with only the highest recommendations from some of the best minds in the game.

I guess the zone works when you're playing teams that aren't used to it.

You have a unique perspective, but I think you're mistaking how people would respond to Eric being coach. It would get talked about when we play OSU like it is now. That's it.

By what measure?!?!?!

Why can no one answer this.

Because ... you watched a YouTube video and liked what he had to say. That's why you think he has a huge potential to be a great Big Ten head coach?
No, he has two good years and has a solid Assistant coaching resume. That's his potential basis.

Smith is less potential and more meat.
