Nebraska under investigation

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain the reason NCAA has the rule regarding analysts in place. From the article it says: "NCAA rules allow analysts to speak to assistants and the head coach, but analysts may not have direct contact with the players. This includes practices, film room hours and during games."

Do the analysts give an unfair advantage?
There is a limit on the number of coaches.

Not so for analysts... so if analysts could do everything a coach does ... there wouldn't be a limit on coaches ;)

Got it, that's what I thought might be the case. Seems like such an easy thing to avoid honestly, what the hell.

Yeah anyone with an anyalist on the field coaching players ... they know they're not following the rules. Super obvious and easy.

I hope the loser stays. Far worse punishment to Nebraska than getting a real coach.

Is new Nebraska AD laying ground works to fire Frosty if things goes horribly bad this season?

If he loses the season opener to the Battling Bielamas, Nebraska will have the balls …
We shall see.

Frost's new boss is another former player from the 90's, Trev Alberts who played in the early 90's (as opposed to Frost in 96/97).

Could be more sympathetic/trusting of Frost, in a band of brothers way? Or maybe just less woo'ed by him, not "my guy", and looking to put his stamp on the program with his own hire.

“The school has significant footage” isn’t a report statement you would see from a team that wants to retain their coach.

Setting the stage to disappear him.

My prediction is that there will be an announcement that Nebraska is conducting a thorough review of the situation. At or near the end of the season the results of that investigation will be presented as follows:

Nebraska wins 9+ games--"we have found the claims to be baseless and/or minor, no public discipline will be announced"

Nebraska wins 6-8 games--"our investigation is ongoing"

Nebraska wins 5 or fewer games--"our investigation has determined that there were significant lapses in judgment and, while we appreciate all that Coach Frost has done for the program, it's time to move in a new direction."

Frost has stepped in dog $%^& once again!! Love it, please keep him in place!!

I heard a man that looks like Urban Meyer was seen in Lincoln today.

Well played.....and probably pretty spot on as well.

Has to kill the diehards for Nebraska to see the program being viewed as a punchline as opposed to the college football royalty they see themselves as still.

I think someone mentioned it but this looks like it could be for cause, so I would think Nebby's best bet would be to suspend him with pay at least to do an investigation then fire him for cause (no payout) without letting him coach again. Might have to suspend other coaches involved as well...

Apparently the investigation has been going on for over a year

Mostly a few minutes of polite "can't get into the details".

Trev looked/sounded good and polished to me, granted I've never seen/heard him before.

Frost looks like a convenience store worker. Camo trucker "N" hat and all.

Some of the mean spirited chatter on the NE boards frequently mentions that Frost spends a lot of time for what passes as night clubs in Lincoln.
The ILL game will then be a matchup with a professional bar fly coach in BB at ILL vs an amateur drunk in Frosty.

Was lurking at one of their boards and Illinois is definitely on the watch calendar.

So, the Strib has an article from the Associated Press.

Headline reads: (not making this up)

NCAA investigating Nebraska's storied football program

but here is the money quote of the article from Frosty, where he throws the administration under the bus:

Alberts confirmed the investigation first reported by The Action Network while Frost said any workouts were approved by his superiors.

"Everything we did through COVID was in the best interest and health of our players in mind and everything we did was approved by athletic department administration and campus administration," Frost said after practice.

What a stand-up guy.

So let's say at Neb someone wants to fire Frost for this and even shaft him for the money.

Who is going to push this?

Nobody at Nebraska seems to be driving the athletics bus.

Moos supposedly had Frost going around him, and Moos supposedly wasn't even around much.

The new AD... it's not clear to me whose hire that guy was. There were rumors the sudden / early AD change this summer was a power move by football boosters & Frost.... would they be ok with Frost getting hired?

It seems like Nebraska school administration is / has been all "fuck whatever you football guys want just go away and do your thing".

Maybe this is seroius enough for the fans to toss Frost already ... it would be the smart choice for sure. But I duno if there is that will to do so / who is going to lead that fight.
Nebraska is the Tennessee of the north. They are both cesspools fraught with booster interference, lack of integrity, and football program incompetence. They are both in the twilight zone.
