NDSU goes down

Holy shit. That game was like 28-14 Bison when I was flipping through earlier. I was watching the Montana/SDSU game. This makes me happy though. There are literally Bison fans who think their team is the best in the country - at any level. I've met them.

There's been a lot more chatter in the last month or so about them getting a Mountain West invite before the end of the year. We'll see.
Could happen but the scuttle is entirely coming from North Fargoans reading that into the Polasek contract extension.

Lol. If they ever move up they need to get rid of they dumpy dome and play some real college football outside. The Fargodome is also not a Division 1 stadium.
Well, since the Bison are the current NCAA Division 1 Football Champions, that's not an accurate statement.

For the convenience of GH users, the site has labeled each string with the headline that the OP chose to indicate the topic contained in it. For example, this one is labeled "NDSU Goes Down."

If you are not interested in that topic, you can skip over it. There is no penalty for doing so. Nor is there any obligation to comment in it about its appropriateness.

Probably needs a new forum if it threatens too many idiots

The absolute worst. Their fans truly think they would make the FBS playoff every year and be a top half of the big 10 team every year. I saw some posts suggesting moving to the B12 would be pointless because they'd win that every year. Easily for me the single dumbest fan base in the country.

Correct. Absolutely delusional.

Thanks for correcting me. I know the teams from last year in the playoff were Oregon, Georgia, Boise State, Arizona State, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Tennessee, Indiana, SMU, and Clemson. Somewhere in their is NDSU. I am sure they were just left off the list which is odd since they must have beat Ohio State. It must have been a good game.

Ohio State won the CFP - College Football Playoff. In case you were unaware, that is not an NCAA sanctioned or sponsored championship. NDSU is a division one team. They've even played in March Madness (more recently than the Gophers.)

This is what NDSU's trophies look like. Assuming you can read, read what they say. (FWIW, I can't stand the Bison or their fans, but what I'm writing is 100% correct.)

Here's one of their banners. What does it say? If they don't play in a Division 1 stadium, where exactly are they playing that they win these?

The portal absolutely destroyed NDSU and SDSU this year. If you're really good in FCS for a few years in a row, you are going to go down quick because half your team is going to be taken by FBS schools.
I fear that is going to be the model for a lot of lesser-recruited high school players. Go to a sold FCS program, redshirt (especially linemen) and build yourself up, see the field for a couple of years, impress FBS schools, transfer up.

Correct. Absolutely delusional.
I’ve said it in other spots but the portal is destroying FCS programs. They can’t compete with exposure or $$$ without moving to FBS and opportunity to make the CFP.

These teams lost tons of commits last week at the last minute when P4 programs filled out their classes of 30-40 kids in some cases.

Now you have multiple former coaches with ties to these schools and recruiting area pulling kids up a level because they know who can and can’t play.

It's not just the portal. It's also SO many teams moving up in the last ten years. With the exception of the Dakota Four and Montana Two, most of the more successful schools have moved up. Sam Houston, JMU, Kennesaw, Jacksonville, Delaware, Missouri State, etc. Even raising the price to move to FBS didn't stop Delaware.

That the two main HBCU conferences, the SWAC and the MEAC choose to not send their champions to the postseason tournament doesn't help either. I think the Ivy finally participating in the post season is a good thing.
