NCAA Tourney

Also, for once I was with this announcing crew who is always favoring the SEC. Haha. I am torn on this next one. I really like Texas and Coach Vic. Just hope its an exciting game too.

We went to the Texas vs SDSU game in Brookings and that was a good time evern though it wasn't close at the end. Impressed with Vic after the game noting how they couldn't stop Brooklyn Meyer (and that she could start for an SEC team) and saying they came to South Dakota because you have to respect the game and bring great basketball games everywhere.

Incredibly low scoring Texas v UCLA game...

Ugly game. Set WBB back 10 years. Officiating for both men and women’s has been allowing the game to major transformations in a negative way.

It’s trickled down to high school as well where section and state games they swallow the whistle. Freedom of movement has been lost.

Refreshing to hear. I read an ESPN columnist a few weeks back that noted such talk is uncalled for. That the majority of fans want such “physicality.” Thats a term that makes me want to barf every time I hear it. I guess we’re in the minority and wish all teams played that way. That it’s good for the game.

On the flip side, you don’t want it to get as tame as the NBA, which Charles Barkley says is now just a bunch of guys standing around with their hands in their pockets waiting to shoot threes.

Congratulations to both South Carolina and UCLA. I was hoping this would be the title game after the final 4 was established. I am not a fan of as Cori Close said of rugby style basketball. Call me old fashioned but seems to me they can play defense w/o all the slapping, hacking, grabbing and pushing before turning into NBA style of basketball. There must be a happy medium there? Go Bruins!

Can’t let the refs “decide the games.”

Dawn Staley is a hoodrat
Does GopherHole have moderators that block posters after a few weeks of racist comments (there have been a couple lurkers doing dumb stuff like this) or is it on individuals to block them and live with stuff like this on our boards. I’m guessing the ones that only chime in to say this crap don’t even watch wbb. But this is gross. We don’t need this anywhere around our fandom.

YES ! The vast majority of the posters on this forum are true fans of woman’s basketball and are respectful even if they disagree. While we are always wanting to grow the support of the team there is no place for racist or sexist comments.

UCLA really knows how to work the ball into the paint for a good shot and not rely on the 3.

South Carolina has no offense. They can't shoot at all. They rely on transition buckets and dribble drives to score.

Don't turn it over, and cut off the slashing, and they cannot do anything. I'm convinced UConn played a bad game and would be much more competitive against UCLA.

"UCLA has played really good basketball these last two games," said Cap't Obvious.

South Carolina wins games due to their athleticism. They're aren't very skilled. UCLA has taken away the paint, and they're getting back on defense on turnovers and rebounds. South Carolina can't do anything because they don't pass or shoot well. It's actually pretty pathetic.

Not unlike OSU

Didn't see that coming. Obviously, no idea, but I would hope that has to make the Gophers feel better; provide even more motivation for next year; and maybe draw some interest from whomever Dawn goes after. Of course, being a long time Gopher fan I hope we don't have some elite recruit going, "I want to be a Bruin.":(
