2001 Miami is the best team I've ever seen. They were ridiculously good.

On a side note, I'll always wonder how good McGahee would have been if he didn't blow out his knee.

His speed was on par with Devin Hester before the injury, and he definitely lost a step or two after it.

I don't think they need to be that high. Great teams lose too. Miami was still better than OSU, just not that night, and that McGahee injury was devastating. Miami couldn't punch it in from close range without him.

I think that OSU team is actually one of the weakest on that list.

Agreed, that team is being heavily overrated here due to beating a legendary Miami team. Then again, everyone is entitled to use their own criteria, but if we're playing these teams against each other in a best of 7 series, I'm not betting on 2002 OSU over many of these teams.

I get it, it's all hypothetical anyway. Just my opinion that the OSU team is being looked at much more favorably in hindsight. But it wouldn't make sense to include 2019 Bama since this is a list of national champions, not necessarily best teams.

I would say Miami USC and auburn were pretty clear 1-2-3

one and two are correct, That Miami team won at Penn State 33-7, at #13 Florida State 49-27, at #15 Syracuse 59-0, beat #11 Washing ton 65-7, also had home wins of 61-0 against Rutgers and 45-3 against West Virginia. Va Tech gave them a game in blacksburg but that's about it. I would put 2004 USC at #3, 2005 Texas at #4, 2013 FSU at #5, 2020 Bama at #6, 2018 Clemson at #7, 2009 Bama at #8, 2014 Ohio State at #9, 2008 Florida at #10,

Best team doesn't always win, guess it depends on criteria. Are they just basing off talent?
