MN HS Basketball 2024-25 Season thread

Physically Waseca can't match up with Breck, could be a long night. Sophomore on Breck looks good, doing some damage on both ends early
Didn’t age well. LOL Waseca surprised me. A good program with some talent.

No it did not, Waseca came out scared and unprepared. They started hitting some 3s and attacking the basket. Love Waseca's spacing and movement, mixed in with some iso for their star players. Breck's best moments were there first few minutes of the game. Tenacious on D and confident. Waseca calmed down and played to their strengths. I'm leaning on Waseca to win the title

Very hard to replicate having mostly one player carry you. In the good old days Waseca constantly imported Australian and New Zealander exchange student BB players who could jump through the roof. I watched one of them one night go for 30 rebounds. That’s far more impressive than 40 points.

On the other hand our exchange students were primarily German. The morning after that game I asked our BB coach why we didn’t have any transfers with that ability? His response: Did you ever see a G*’*@mn German who could play BB?

German exchange students huh? I'm guessing you're from New Ulm 🇩🇪🍻

When DB went on a little run to go from down 5 to up 3, it looked like the Cherry players started to play hero ball and didn't share it like they had before. The lead for DB then increased to 10 and Cherry couldn't recover.

Big win for Alexandria over Mankato East. Believe they move up to 4A next year. Hockey is also moving up.

That Alex defense is tough to play against. Just wears a team down to have every pass contested on top. Takes away time from your possession. Thompson was fun to watch.

It was travesty in the 90s. We had two classes, then We got the sweet 16, which at first I was upset. Then watched it and said hell yes.

The folks at MSHL made a big to do over it not being fair for New London Spicer. And Minneapolis North winning both years.

Then right to 4, not back to two.

The jag offs wanted to give everyone a trophy.

I could handle 2, but 4? For what? Even 3 is way too many. Makes sense in football. Little schools can compete in Basketball.

When I went to De La Salle we had roughly 300 kids. 69 in my class. De la Salle has been to State more times than any other school (set the record tgis year) despite only being allowed to compete since 75.
Easily in the top 10 worst posts in GH history.

New London was a bad example. They advanced past the first round. It was that you went home if you lost in first round. No consolation and no tournament feel.

DeLaSalle might be one example you don’t want to use for supporting small schools can compete.

We hired our last HC based on deLasalle creds.

This Wayzata and Cretin Derham Hall game is a pretty good ball game for those not watching. Williams arena looks really full. Why does Dave Lee have to be polluting my TV?

Those were 4 great championship games. Not a historian of the tournament, but the best games i can remember in my short 38 years of being alive.

I wouldn’t worry about USAF. He hands out those comments like Kwik Trip hands out pizza samples. Only difference is Kwik Trips product is of a higher quality!

When Lee is on air, my mute button gets a workout.

Says the clown who wants to cut down the number of classes.

🤔🤔🤔🤔 Or in English for you. Huh! If you mean academic, like readin, writin, and rithmetic, you already missed those. If you mean in the state tournaments, not sure I ever posted anything about that? But so as to see that you have yet another topic to bitch about, I don’t mind the 4 class BB tourney, but I wish there was a way the champs in each class could play off. Probably some mismatch’s, but the upsets would be worth it.
