Minnesota @ Illinois Game Thread

If we lose this game, it will be because we haven't made any jump shots from more than about 10 feet all night long. We've had good looks and some go in-and-out, but that won't get it done.

Otherwise, we're giving it everything we have. Just need to find some touch from both the midrange and from the arch.....

and AL Nolen doing everything to cause us this game.

Okay, stop overpassing the ball Damian!!!!!!

Wide-open, you have 18 or whatever points, go up and shoot it after one step on the dribble.....

and AL Nolen doing everything to cause us this game.

That last offensive possession wasn't Al's fault, he got the ball back and then hit DJ, who was WIDE open from on top. Then Damian decides to drive it into the traffic and throw it away when he had about a 15-footer with a wide-open look.

Then they hit a three and Westbrook forgets where the shot clock is at....these are reasons why you lose games like this....just stupid stuff like that.....

That's it, they're done.

They've completely stopped doing anything smart on the offensive end. Westbrook has decided that he hasn't taken enough shots and he's sunk two straight possessions where they responded by going down and scoring. Just plain dumb.

Westbrook needs to sit down the rest of this game.....

Al:

0-4 and ZERO assists.

Come on, that's so bad it's ridiculous. He needs to sit...and then stay there.

Has Westbrook ever made a pass that wasn't along the perimeter. The guy NEVER passes it into the post. COME ON gophers. lets go here.

Agree for the most part, but I was just saying the possession at 42-41 wasn't Al's fault. Damian made a really stupid decision to drive and force a drive into about four bodies.

Westbrook has also killed us on key possessions here....

This is going to turn out to be about a 15-point loss because we've run out of gas and are doing the same stupid damn things we did during the losing streak.

Time to come home and get ready for Wisconsin.....

dude even if we do that, think about the other bubbles, they might win "out" too.

Very poor final five minutes. Ouch. We just fell apart. Too bad because we were in this one all game.

Hard to win when you turn it over a million times and don't score in the final 6 minutes.

we win out we are 10-8, 22 wins going into the B10 Tournament and probably a top 5 finish. that gets you in.

Guys, he's right. We should just give up now. No need to play Wisky or Michigan at home, they both will beat us because they're on the bubble too. oh well, there's always next year.....

you'll take your chances? He is 20 percent on the year

What do you prefer? That we continue running our offense and getting all the other same looks we have been getting? shot clock running out, a turnover. I'll take an open wing 3 with a close out from Hoffarber anytime.

41 pts. Royce White doesn't care about shots and minutes at Hopkins because he already knows that he's going to be the man on day 1.

Al's the big problem. He doesn't show up...at all. Not one aspect of his game is any good right now.

This was definitely a game we could have had. Let it get away in the last five minutes.

Illinois isn't anything special. With any sort of offense at all, we beat them tonight. But hey, it's the final road game of the year and it wasn't terrible from a competitive stand point. Every player on our team is going to need to learn how to play offense during the offseason because it is painfully obvious where our short-comings are.

If we can find some offensive flow for next year, we'll be a VERY good team. For the rest of this year, we just need to gut it out....
