Probably true about any boss.Interesting if true. I can't imagine it's easy working for Fleck if you're not totally on board with everything.

Wait until he has to self-insure for his home and his first evacuation order.Totally true - and I really think the locale had to be a factor too. Hard to turn down Miami.
Like them or hate them, at least they are doing it through business. Maybe shady, maybe not, but through business. I have more concern for all of these people, regardless of political party:How dare you try to put limits on what people can make. We all win! America!!

All that is true about PJ’s teams and the kids on same, but a good chunk of folks wouldn’t want to live and breathe FAMILY, et al all day. Seemed to be an issue the first three or four years to a larger extent with significant coaching turnover, but I still think it is the root cause of turnover from time to time and probably will always be.I wouldn’t have any issue working under someone who’s dedicated to shaping young men into responsible citizens and strong individuals. When was the last time you heard about a player who spent 3-5 years under Fleck making headlines for the wrong reasons? If it has happened, it’s rare. The positive aspects of the culture far outweigh the negatives

Like 10 of them, the first two or three years, but as I mentioned, it has slowed down significantly.Which coaches left and didn't get a promotion?

Can you name them?Like 10 of them, the first two or three years, but as I mentioned, it has slowed down significantly.
Paup was let go. Addae lateral move (he changed teams every year for a while). I don't even remember West. But basically none of these guys left due to culture. They were let go or made upward moves.Paup, Addae, West I don't think left for promotions. Although Addae got promoted at West Virginia two years later. Werriner left to go to Michigan same job probably alot more money so we count that as a lateral move?
I'm guessing Paup didn't really fit from a culture perspective. I don't necessarily view that as an indictment on Fleck it's more seeing a problem and eliminating it. Same thing with Brick Haley, although he just wasn't a very good coach or recruiterPaup was let go. Addae lateral move (he changed teams every year for a while). I don't even remember West. Would seem like an odd move. This is his alma mater, PJ coached him so knows the culture. Why would he make a lateral move?Reports on GI that Heathernan is going after DLat as his DL coach
If it pays more it’s not a lateral move even if the title and role is the same. But I’d be surprised if he were able to poach Winston.Would seem like an odd move. This is his alma mater, PJ coached him so knows the culture. Why would he make a lateral move?
Could probably double his pay or more.Would seem like an odd move. This is his alma mater, PJ coached him so knows the culture. Why would he make a lateral move?
I think it would take something like that to poach him. I assume Winston had no relationship at all with Hetherman prior to Fleck hiring him a year ago.Could probably double his pay or more.
My brother-in-law's boss has a house in Siesta Key and was told by a private insurer that it would cost $2M/yr for homeowners insurance. It's getting out of hand.Wait until he has to self-insure for his home and his first evacuation order.
Must be a helluva house. I live down here, and yes, insurance is expensive, but I'm paying far less than 1% of our house value for homeowners insurance. That said, I'm inland and not on a barrier island but I'm skeptical of that number. My brother-in-law's boss has a house in Siesta Key and was told by a private insurer that it would cost $2M/yr for homeowners insurance. Of course. The economics of hurricanes is more than the cost of the homes destroyed. The numbers add up. The pool has to include business, charities and government buildings and infrastructure. The pool pays for all of these things. Heatherman has walked into a financial nightmare without even realizing it. I don't believe he received a pay increase. I think he broke even.My brother-in-law's boss has a house in Siesta Key and was told by a private insurer that it would cost $2M/yr for homeowners insurance. It's getting out of hand.
Same position. You calling them promotions because they got more money? We just lost our last two DC's over the last two years to promotions.
The coaches who have left PJs staff left for better opportunities, not because they disliked PJ's culture.

I don't think most would call that a promotion, it's a lateral move that pays more.Yes. If they weren’t getting more money, they wouldn’t be leaving.

Miami has had a lot of seasons right around .500 in the last 20 or so years in the ACC. What makes it not comparable in your mind? You don't think MSU is a comparable program? So when PJ became the head coach of Minnesota, that wasn't a promotion? It was the same title with more pay.
Or are you still trying to convince yourself that Miami is a comparable program to Minnesota?

Just in terms of recruiting Miami is on a completely different level than MN.Miami has had a lot of seasons right around .500 in the last 20 or so years in the ACC. What makes it not comparable in your mind? You don't think MSU is a comparable program?
It was between 25-30% of the property value and the house is on the gulf. Needless to say, he self insures it.Must be a helluva house. And how has that worked out? In the last 10 full seasons (excluding 2020), who has more wins, The U or Miami?Just in terms of recruiting Miami is on a completely different level than MN.
