This one hurts and then we replace him with a guy who's been with him forever but not in any critical role.
Yeah, that 2nd half was as bad as it got this year AND the O was a bigger problem in that game IMHO. He was 3 games in as well in his first gig as a DC, with 3 NC games to learn from, which didn't help. Looks like he adjusted (Players did too, which is another compliment to him) and got better as a coach.Perhaps replaying the 2nd half of the Iowa game from this season would ease your pain.
I didn't want him to bail either, just trying to help a brotha out.
are we havin funnnnn yeeeettttt??For a minute there I thought you were talking about the greatest Canadian rock band of all-time.
Triumph used to do a lot of concerts in the cities in the late 70’s and early 80’s and did some outdoor concerts too. They were a great live band.I think Rush has them beat.... but I DO like these guys too!
Totally true - and I really think the locale had to be a factor too. Hard to turn down Miami.Didn’t quite give him the raise he needed.
Well both times KC left and when Rossi left, any left over money in the salary pool went into additional analyst and Quality of control type roles. So I'm sure they'll bump some current staff members up first and do the same thing.I'd feel better if I knew that the $600,000 buyout money they're getting was going right into the football assistant coaches salary pool, but knowing the U that's probably going to a new megaphone and some boat wax for the rowing team.
The school is holding him to the contract. The buyout is one of the main parts of the agreement. Football coaches are usually fired before their contracts are up to.When are schools going to start holding coaches to their signed contracts? Or does the buyout negate the contractual agreement?
I really don’t understand how people don’t understand thisThe school is holding him to the contract. The buyout is one of the main parts of the agreement. Football coaches are usually fired before their contracts are up to.
Yeah I'm far from a contract attorney but the concept isn't that hard to grasp here.I really don’t understand how people don’t understand this
I asked same question and somebody on here showed a report that said $2M.Has anyone seen how much Hetherman salary is at Miami? Maybe Miami doesn't release salary figures for coaches. IDK.
I may be wrong on this but as a private school I don't think they have to release that, right?Has anyone seen how much Hetherman salary is at Miami? Maybe Miami doesn't release salary figures for coaches. IDK.
Rumored around $2MI may be wrong on this but as a private school I don't think they have to release that, right?
Technically Miami doesn't have to disclose that info since they're a private school. Thought somebody posted a blurb that said 2 millionHas anyone seen how much Hetherman salary is at Miami? Maybe Miami doesn't release salary figures for coaches. IDK.
Thanks Trump. The only way to stop NIL is to revisit the Supreme Court and show them what a disaster they have brought to school sports. They might reconsider or refigure.

Too white and nerdy for Miami lolAlready working his angle.
Interesting if true. I can't imagine it's easy working for Fleck if you're not totally on board with everything. My sources indicate that Corey Hetherman wanted out even before Miami’s head coach made the call. While he did a great job as our defensive coordinator, he never fully embraced the culture at UM. It’s well known that PJ holds both his players and coaching staff to exceptionally high standards, which isn’t for everyone.
Yes, Hetherman accepted the pay raise, but at the time, it was the best financial move for him. The speed at which everything unfolded makes me suspect some level of tampering. PJ was returning from a recruiting visit when, just as he boarded the plane, he received a call from Miami’s head coach requesting permission to speak with Hetherman. By the time PJ landed in Minnesota—just two hours later—he learned that Hetherman had already accepted the offer. That’s an incredibly fast turnaround for such a major decision affecting both his career and family.
Honestly, I’m glad he’s gone. If someone doesn’t truly want to be here, then they shouldn’t be.
I wouldn’t have any issue working under someone who’s dedicated to shaping young men into responsible citizens and strong individuals. When was the last time you heard about a player who spent 3-5 years under Fleck making headlines for the wrong reasons? If it has happened, it’s rare. The positive aspects of the culture far outweigh the negativesInteresting if true. I can't imagine it's easy working for Fleck if you're not totally on board with
