Obviously we all hope Gach gets a waiver too, but this one is by far and away the bigger of the two IMO. With depth at the 2-4, but not so much down low, this was huge! Color me thrilled.
 



Robbins is not Bakary Konate, but it's good to have him on the floor this year!

Not sure about that.

Without Robbins, I think we'd still be just ok with Ihnen and Johnson starting at the 4 and 5 with Curry, Mitchell, Omersa and if need be Freeman backing them up.

Without Gach, Tre Williams starts and Mutaf is really the only other pure wing on the roster to back them up. You also have Mashburn but he will also be releiving Carr at point and Ihnen isn't much of a 3 IMO.

Crazy how we all have different ideas on players... 1. You, me and all Gopher fans, I think want Gach to be eligible. We agree on that. You can never have too much scoring and he’s an active defender. 2. Without Gach our depth suffers but Ihnen would be an exciting 3 imo. Would not feel bad about that at all. 3. But no Robbins would create a bunch of band aids trying to fill the 5 role for 40 minutes unless Freeman somehow turned out to be a beast. Completely disagree with your confidence in the other 5 candidates and lack of potential in Freeman.

Gach is 100% lock to be eligible....no reason to evaluate gophs with him not eligible. So far 90 approved 3 denied this year......not very random
 



Before we all get too excited, there has to be a season to get excited about.

the way things have gone this year, I will believe they are actually having a season when I see two teams on the floor, in uniform, and ready to play.
 

I don't really feel like going back and looking through other threads - but is the team currently practicing together? I think Mutaf finally made it, right?

It's a nice looking squad with a lot of depth. Hopefully they get enough time together to gel.

I think only individual workouts are allowed right now. The Mutaf tweet pics would possibly seem to confirm that? But I could easily be wrong.

You are the guy that walks around a very good Sunday night party telling everyone to take it easy because they have to go to class/work tomorrow....
 

I know that the guys need to be on campus before the waiver paperwork can be submitted, but if there is any truth to working on getting Robbins waiver granted first....then that was a very smart move by Pitino and company. Gach should be a no brainer....and I'm of the thought that the NCAA would less likely to grant Robbins if we had another waiver request.

Look, as things stand right now, it looks favorable to have a B1G basketball season. But, this is 2020.
Unpredictable sh*t happens every day.

I hope they are playing by January.

But I would not bet my own money on it.

If you think nothing can go wrong, that is usually when everything goes wrong.
 

We’ll get off to our best start in years. Then a nation wide shutdown. It wouldn’t be gopher basketball without your heart broken.
 


It looks like it was a pretty smart strategy to run Robbins' waiver through first, the dicier request. The Gach waiver is a no brainer. Maybe everyone is going to get it this year and it doesn't make a difference but to me, it looks like a pretty smart chess move by Pitino. Now lets have a season! This is a very exciting squad, one that has the talent going into the season to make a nice run!
