Kudos to the kid. Sitting second in the Big Ten for TE's right now. Coming into the year with one catch.

This is how talented kids emerge. It takes them time.

McNight is quietly working his way up the stats chart as well.

All of a sudden we're looking at three nice targets for Weber. When the season started we weren't sure who'd be catching the ball.

Totally agree on Lair...he is a very nice target for us and really is fluid in how he runs routes. The game appears to be slowing down for him the last few games and he is starting to put it all together. We've had some really nice TEs come through our system the last 8-10 years and Lair looks to be another in the list.

Go Gophers!!

My concern has been holding down the edge to allow us to run 7 hole, or sweep, or outside zone etc.

Anyone reviewing film have some opinions on this?

Nice hands, good speed. He'll only get better at all phases of the game. Good for him.

After his first drop he looked good the rest of the day. He is a much needed addition to the offense. Allen is set to break out as well. Lair appears to be emerging as a game changer.

100% Schnoodler! I said this in the chat on gameday about Lair waking up & looking coherent. He's still not as fluid & confident as I'd like but you can see the light bulb went on at some point & I'm now convinced he'll just get better & better. Also was saying in the chat that...don't look now but Gray/McKnight/Lair is a pretty solid looking trio to pass to out of play action. They all need more development but I'd be damn happy to throw to throw to a trio of 6-5, 6-4, 6-4 receivers who can all move.

Nice to have a TE as a serious weapon in our offense again. I missed having that. Say what you will about Glen Mason, but under his regime it seems we always had quality (and heavily utilized) TE's, as well as quality specialists as punters and kickers. So we're halfway there at least. ;)

Anyway, kudos to Lair for a couple of great games and for his recognition of such this week.
