Killer Shot

Wow. One thing is for sure: For better or for worse more people seem to be interested in the football program. I can remember a time a few years ago when the chat boards were dead and few people cared.

That's ok if GG= Gordie Shaw is still pissed that his ass got canned... I'm sick of this negativity people.... "F" it I'm going ice fishing see you in September....

Well, at least Gordie could coach and dev. an o line.

All the kool aid drinkers were happy with the shotgun on 3rd and one, now Timmy fires Dunbar.

I guess I was right all along. What does this say about Timmy's decision making and leadership.

As long as the 12 ACT guys sign on the dotted line, who cares, right.

What did K. Kessell once post on the former site???? Stars over results, right?

55-0 at home!!!!!1

oak street...your a definately a flamer. so i didnt spell check. my bad. you are obviously GGs butt buddy. go back to your hole

Sorry not me, I thought Mason had to go so you cannot call me a Mason sympathizer.

Regardin the "12 ACT guys," if I'm not mistaken noone is academically ineligible after the first semester. So basically, the argument is that a team perpetually going to low bowls that is full of Division 2 calibur athletes and a couple of quality players is super awesome and that the 2007 squad, having lost good players to graduation and with key players kicked off the team would have been competitive under Mason. Sarcasm fully intended :)

I see that the "Kid" in your moniker definitely describes your maturity level.

You're right on that. GopherGod just has some unpopular opinions, while the Nightmare on Oak Street is definitely a flamer. Don't link the two.

He points out everything he views as a negative before that negative is proven to be true. He will not point out a positive until it is proven to be true. He is an ultimate pessimist. He would be unhappy with anyone brewster hire. Brewster represents the University very well, and he has had some ok results on the field so far. I don't know why you are so quick to hate to him. Why are your expectations for this program so high when no one has done anything here in decades (please please please do not mention Lou Holtz)?

Lane Kiffin: I always think about Lane being here too, but then I catch myself and say that he probably would have had one big year, then taken off for something bigger. Leaving our program scrambing?? Who knows I guess. Does anyone know if he "really" wanted to be here for the long haul??

Bo Pelini: No way he picks MN over Neb, just due to past prestigue and the fan base.

Not true. Pelini and Kiffin both publicly expressed disapointment over not being hired as HC at Minnesota. Make no mistake about it ... either one could have been HC at Minnesota right now. I'm not saying the wrong choice was made. But as a Gopher fan it just makes folowing their careers interesting.

Things seem to have worked out well for both of them so far. Pelini won another NC, then got the HC job at the school tat passed on him once in the past. Kiffin had to take the worst HC job in the NFL where he was paid like an executive but treated like a child; but now he has been given the green-light to hire the most expensive staff in the history of college football.

GG and Oak the only reason im calling you guys out is because it seems like you have nothing but negative things to say. if you were a true gopher football fan then you would atleast give the guy a chance. maybe he sees somethings we don't. we arent in on the meetings. brewster says somethings to get us fired up and we tend to hang onto every word. maybe this was the killer shot he was talking about. we dont know. i also do not jump on everybody that isnt a yes man toward brewster but if i keep reading your posts and all it has in there is negativity towards the team and the coach i start to wonder if you are trolls.

I may not know the histories of GG and this other guy as well as some people, but I don't see why being pessimistic makes you an asshole or a flamer. I think we can all understand why a longtime Gopher fan might have started to see the bad side of things before the good, can't we?

That said, I'm ready to roll with this hire and see what happens. But that doesn't mean what GopherGod said about the downside of Brewster changing the offensive scheme mid-stream doesn't have a ring of truth to it, at least for me.

Personally I don't care if you think I am an troll or not, but I am a graduate of the university of Minnesota. I have never ripped on a player on this team wit the exception of Alford once after he got was seemed like 50 holding calls in a row, just don't agree with Brewsters management of the team and I don't think he is a very good game day coach, just simply my opinion and my right.

And no doubt there have been some negatives to Brewster's program thus far. And will likely be more down the road. Normal stuff.
