Kill Presser Notes: Briean Boddy-Calhoun out for the year with a torn ACL & MCL...

Shocked that it took you almost 3 hours to respond to a post regarding the departed Mason.

Hook, line, sinker....

What the heck, I'll bite one more time...

>> Wisky had 3 consecutive 6 (with one of them 7) loss seasons in the middle of Mason's tenure. When do you think we'll see that again?
>> Barnett's best years were the two BEFORE Mason. During Mason's tenure, NW had two winning seasons in 10 years, never losing less than 8 games, 4 times losing at least 8 games. Since Mason? NW has had one .500 season followed by 5 straight bowl appearances. And that is similar to Mason's era?
>> Iowa had 3 good seasons during Mason's entire tenure, the rest garbage. Nice try
>> Impossible to overstate the addition of Nebraska to the schedule, EVERY year.

All the other teams you mentioned are in the opposite division as the Gophers, or soon will be. It's not worth discussing any more with you, I got the response I was looking for.

You're right though, Kill has to win conference games. Period. Or he won't last long. He's building the program from the ground up, slowly but surely, and we'll see how successful he is. I have no clue how it's going to turn out, but I like the path they're on. It might be slower than what some people want to see, but I expect it to be a consistent forward progression. Time will tell...

Back in those days, there were enough decent teams made up of...

Most simply put: wisky and NU are winning now because Michigan, PSU, Purdue and iowa are mere shadows of what they were...Even the Gophers during the past five seasons quit knocking off Nu now and then. Yes, my Gophers have NOT been as competitive during the past five years. That has been a huge help to Northwestern. As has the decline of iowa and Illinois.
We'll see wisky have a string of 6-7 win seasons when the B1G quits sucking so much. Where has Michigan been the last five years? They are just coming back now. How often will tOSU get busted? When will PSU have a full compliment of players after the last three or more years of hell they have been going through. When will Purdue return to the form Drew B. and Tiller had them at? They played in a Rosebowl. Illinois can have a great year once in a while. When will Minnesota ever rise up a beat wisky. Our Gophers used to do that once in a while.

Wisky and NU win not because they are so great...but...merely because Purdue, Michigan, iowa, Minnesota, PSU, Illinois and a few others got SO bad.

Nebraska? Heck, they have had their share of wins over the teams that really suck in the Conference, but, they haven't really been making that much noise. They are NOT the Nebraska teams of Dr. Tom.

The wisky and NU rise is very simply because of the Michigan, PSU, Purdue, iowa and to a lesser extent Illinois and Minnesota declines. And now as MSU is starting a decline, Michigan will rise a bit...but not all the way until they can defeat tOSU again. THAT is how it works in this conference. wisky will suffer when Minnesota and iowa can defeat them once in a while. And NU will hurt if Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota...along with Nebraska and wisky make life more difficult for them. Nebraska? IF and when they ever start playing defense again, then iowa, wisky, Minnesota, NU, MSU and maybe Michigan had better watch out...
