Is pushing a button to switch to the station where the Gophers are on really so burdensome? I don't see why local stations wouldn't carry Gopher-related programming in addition to games. It's got to beat whatever these stations are playing now.

A lot of rural stations don't even have live on-air talent. They're just satellite feeds, with a possible morning show. It's cheap programming. Kind of like why you see so many infomercials on late night TV.
