Just a guess, but based on the new landscape in college basketball (18-team Big Ten + ACC, Big XII & SEC mega-conferences) I’d feel very comfortable saying Big Ten will get no less than 9 teams in the tourney next season. And that may be a bit low. And the Big XII could surpass that.
If you thought the “little guys” were getting screwed on at-large bids previously, wait ‘til we start seeing what happens moving forward.
So if the Gophers can “simply” finish with the 11th or 12th best resume in the Big Ten, they’ll likely be a bubble team. Sadly, those are our standards, and have been for way too long.
