Josh Martin Updates Thread - 1/4: Records third triple double of the season

Prove it, thank you.

However, once it is official that anyone is coming to Minnesota, their stars drop. Stars are for lovers.

Your teeth are like stars Doc.

They come out at night.

What about his statement made you take offense? You don't like that he's seen Martin post on Twitter about being motivated? I guess I just fail to see what's so heinous about Madtown's post.

Go Gophers!!

I have a feeling he is our starting PF on opening night next year.

Dre/Mason
Dre/McNeil
Morris/King
Martin/Oto
EE/Mo

That is my guess on the depth chart with Wally and Buggs being quetion marks/transfer candidates. Plus we still have another scholarship open.

I hope you're right. Also hope we can land another wing and a big.

We will need a JUCO wing and a Big in the worst way if Rich doesn't think that Ellenson and or Buggs can contribute.

I'm holding out for at least one of those improving enough to be a 5 - 10 minute contributor next year, my guess is Buggs, but I'm not holding my breath.

Why must the wing be a JUCO and what two are you talking about?

My assumption is that we won't be able to get a solid contributor out of who is left out there in the HS senior recruits. I wouldn't be too excited of having Morris being our primary wing for next year, not that I don't think he is good, it's that I dont KNOW he is going to be good. Obviously I'm ok if its Rashad or someone of a similar makeup... I just am not expecting that.

The one out of two improving I was talking about were Ellenson and or Buggs. If Buggs improves my hope is we get a JUCO wing that can contribute, if it's Ellenson who becomes a contributor and not Buggs I hope we can find a solid PF to play right away out of the JUCO ranks.

I would definitely prefer a Freshman to come in and make an impact, I just think its less likely.

This is the way I see it also. We need as close to a Vaughn clone as possible to become a bubble team. I like Martin for 20-25 minutes at the 4 and I think Mason can give us 10-15 minutes backing up the 1 and hopefully the 2. I don't think we can get to where we want to be will Morris at the 3. No problem with him being first off the bench.

If we get Vaughn we are a sure fire tourney team, no doubt in my mind.

With the team madtown listed we are a bubble team, with Vaughn were probably a 5 or 6 seed. We lose Austin and Malik, but I think Morris can atleast be an upgrade from Smith, Martin will upgrade the four and Mason upgrades the point so Dre can focus on the two spot full time. And like Madtown said still a spot left, could go to Vaughn, a JUCO, maybe a senior who graduated. After all a year a go did anyone have Malik Smith or the unfortunate Rakeem Buckles on our radar?

When do they update it again, after the season is over? I know Martin hinted on twitter that he was motivated by their decision to drop him to a two star from a four star.

New ESPN rankings coming in a month!

Love seeing these tweets about him from @jlieb24

Broken backboard alert. Josh Martin my goodness

Josh Martin dunk count is now at 2

I think Josh Martin just posterized two guys with a soaring one-handed jam. Not sure that's even possible

BOTHELL, Wash. - The Post Falls Trojans took the Bothell High Cougars to overtime before losing 70-68 in on Friday night.

Josh Martin, Bothell's 6-foot-7 senior post player who signed in November to play for the University of Minnesota, hit two free throws late in overtime and Andrew Wilson hit one.

In regulation, Martin forced overtime by hitting three free throws in 20 seconds.

"We played much better," Post Falls coach Mike McLean said. "I was very happy with playing on the road. We're at the point of our season when We're more worried about 'Are we playing our best' and we're playing to our potential. We're much better today than we were coming out of the (Coeur d'Alene Inn-vitational)."

Post Falls (7-4) had 28 team fouls and Bothell (7-3) had just nine.

"They got to the foul line too much," McLean said. "That's what we couldn't overcome."

Trojans junior guard Luke Anderson scored 14 points and he had six rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.

"Luke had his best game of the season for us," McLean said.

Joey Pfennigs had seven rebounds, guard Nick Hall, who was named the Inn-vitational MVP last weekend, scored 16 points and Max McCullough scored 14 points for Post Falls, which is at Inglemoor of Kenmore, Wash., today.

Post Falls 16 21 16 10 5 - 68

Bothell 24 15 11 13 7 - 70

POST FALLS - Hall 16, McKeown 2, Davenport 4, Pfennigs 5, Hillman 0, Anderson 14, McCullough 14, Thompson 7, Koski 6.

BOTHELL - Bowers 9, Kollman 9, Wilson 1, Dean 5, Munro 5, C. Smith 9, Martin 32.

6. Josh Martin (Sr.)- Bothell, F, 6-7: Martin is the most electric player in the state. Blessed with freakish athleticism, Martin can finish around the rim with a variety of dunks. Martin also has range that extends to the three-point line. Committed: Minnesota

Today at 8:40AM (1-4-14)

The Bothell High School boys basketball team edged Post Falls High School of Idaho Friday 70-68 in overtime thanks to Josh Martin's 32-point effort.

The Cougars opened the game with the hot hand, outscoring the Idaho team 24-16 during the first quarter. But Post Falls would cut that lead to just two points by halftime.

The team from Idaho maintained that momentum into the third quarter where it took its first lead of the game. A strong fourth quarter brought Bothell back and ultimately tied at 63-63 by the end of regulation.

Both teams clamped down during overtime but Bothell was able to squeak out a 7-5 advantage during the defensive struggle to win the game.

If he keeps this strong season going he'll end up with a better ranking than two stars. Maybe he'll get back in the top 100.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but I don't give a damn what stars he has.... I just hope he comes here and plays HARD!! He appears to have some talent, but hopefully it's not all physical talent that gets caught up to like some of our previous 4* recruits.
