Thanks for the reminder, forgot he redshirted. Because he can't grad transfer I just assumed he hadn't redshirted. He already had a red-shirt year tho; so he needs a waiver either way.

Because it's the Gophers, I would assume any NCAA ruling would go against them. However, the bolded is a very good point. Many of the kids playing NCAA sports probably can't afford an attorney. The Spielmans, on the other hand should be able to afford a very good one.As for the waiver situation, it will be hard for the NCAA to say no to a kid who wants to be closer to home in the middle of an international health pandemic, who also has a known mental health issue. The Spielmans will hire a big time attorney and that almost always forces the NCAA to grant the waiver.
He very well may have more problems. I trust PJ more than just about anybody to make the right call. I highly doubt he would take a chance if he thought it could turn south. In the Gophers favor, he's basically only a rental for one semester. I don't know what his "issues" are, but the risk seems relatively low.People are counting chickens before they are hatched.
He may have more problems than being discontented with Frosty.

Agreed it's far from a slam dunk that he comes here, for multiple reasons. In my non-expert opinion I think it's much more likely he doesn't spend 2020 in a gopher uniform.People are counting chickens before they are hatched.

This is a good point and I think may go against the gophers honestly. I think if he wants to play anywhere in the country they would have the means to fight it until it happens. I realize there are "rules" but it hasn't stopped people from transferring, still being far from home, and still being eligible right away.Because it's the Gophers, I would assume any NCAA ruling would go against them. How do the rules work in this case? Does he have the option to sit another year and then play? If not, that pretty rules out any landing spot other than the homeland of Minnesota. He already had a red-shirt year tho; so he needs a waiver either way.
You heard it here first, I'm going out on a limb and predicting the sun will rise tomorrow....and 783 other people.
Boy, over all I'm not sure about that...CAB is TJ clone but a bit more elusive and possessive. He will get a lot of balls thrown his way. I think JD would be a dynamic #3 and main return guy as others have posted.Spielman is the far superior player to CAB at this point. No disrespect to CAB as I think we all like his potential, but to think Spielman couldn't jump him on the depth chart is ridiculous.
Three JD Spielman threads at one time, is that a GH record?
Quite possibly. I have to imagine that JD knows exactly what is going to happen. I have a hard time believing dad would let him leave NE without a landing spot secured. If he doesn't get a waiver, he'll essentially lose a year of eligibility (assuming he doesn't return to NE) and his career would be over. This is a good point and I think may go against the gophers honestly. Does anybody know what kind of pro prospect he is?
Best man should play. Either way: Bateman, Speilman, CAB ... three high level weapons on offense. Would like them all to have high stats. Could be two draft picks next year as well.

How about this: when we’re averaging 500yd offense per game, plenty enough to go round!But... but... but...
... the tight ends! What about the tight ends?!?!?!
Oh, the humanity!
For JD Spielman threads, for sure.Three JD Spielman threads at one time, is that a GH record?
Speaking of which - what do you think of Fleck vs Kill?Doubt it. I am sure we had like 12 Fleck vs. Kill threads going simultaneously back when PJ was hired.
I can see headlines now. "With so many wide open recievers Morgan struggles to figure out which one to throw to." Or "Speilman struggles to adjust to having other recievers who can catch the ball and throws that hit him in stride."
Because CAB had two more proven guys in front of him. Not undervaluing TJ at all...he was #1 for a reason. Just my observations of watching CAB last year. I see 2020 as a breakout for CAB.If CAB is a more elusive and possessive version of TJ, then why was TJ's stat line 86/1,318/13 while CAB's was 28/371/5 last year? I think some people have a tendency to undervalue TJ and overvalue CAB. CAB is a good receiver, but TJ was elite. JDS is somewhere in between.
