It's Official: Central Michigan vs. Minnesota in Quick Lane Bowl

I hope they're not paying outside staff to work on the travel packages. All 12 fans can make plans on Hotwire.

No one should be surprised..... a crappy opponent in a crappy bowl to end a crappy season.

I'll probably go, i've got PTO to burn and nothing else to do on a Monday in December. I just like watching football.

$450-$500/ticket to fly out of MSP to Detroit... Man I hate that our airport has the 3rd highest prices.

At least they should get some sweet gifts for playing in this prestigious bowl.

chip fans will be there a plenty---big game for them to take down a b1g powerhouse--we have nothing to gain from a win, plus the cost of eating the unused tix, losing proposition, sorry folks a mistake for going

Will be interesting to see if they actually come up with some cheap packages to get fans out there. In the past many of the bowl travel packages haven't been all that much of a bargain but in this case they will have to be creative because I can't imagine a ton of people lining up to go spend some time right after Christmas in Detroit.

Here's hoping we come away with the victory at the very least.

Only $250 if you fly out of Rochester instead.

Opposite Broncos-Bengals on MNF? No thanks. I'll pass.

Yeah, I'll for a game that has no impact on the local sports scene whatsoever over a home team.

Yup.

Oh, I forgot fantasy football, the real sport.

We have a win to gain, actually.

Sensitive much? Would you like to wager on which game will get a higher rating in MSP?

I'm curious as well. I'd like to see what they come up with although I'd kinda like to get in and out the same day, spend one night at most (due to other stuff) so I'm not sure they'll offer that.

The U has proven time and time again that they are unable to get fans to bowl sites for reasonable prices. You're better off planning on your own.

we win, everyone one says well, we should win, we lose more turmoil going into the offseason---like I said nothing to gain--and the U will lose money on this bowl guaran****inteed

Big Ten splits the pot.

In and out the same day southwest has some alright prices. The catch being a plane change in Chicago....

Edit, never mind.... would be cutting it too close on the return trip for the same day but coming back the next day works.

On Sid's show today, Claeys said the current season class has never ended the season with a victory.

Yes, it's a minor bowl. Yes, it doesn't mean a lot in the great scheme of things. Yes, this season failed to meet expectations.

But, athletes are competitors. they want to compete, and they want to win. Even with all of the bleep that hit the fan this year, if I can watch the seniors walk off the field with a victory in their final game as Gophers, I will gain some satisfaction from that. It's a last chance to watch guys like Murray, Boddy-Calhoun, and others who have brought some respect back to Gopher FB the last few years. That should mean something.

And for those of you who only want to p*** and moan, and bad-mouth everything, a simple suggestion. Don't watch the game; don't come on line and post anything about it.

Also it is football.... football is fun to watch.... football!

I turned the Vikings game off early and got bored, so I did some tinkering.

Thoughts? Eliminated 6 bowls held in double cities. 12 teams.
Moved Russel Athletic Bowl to MPLS (if Detroit gets one...USBS should)

Bowl Schedule.jpg

Kansas State won their 6th game yesterday and are playing Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl (go Cats). San Jose State was the third 5-7 team and got matched with Georgia State in the inaugural Cure Bowl.

The halftime entertainment?

A big college football fan like yourself would know the U is not responsible for unsold tickets.

Delta. It's not a non stop flight though.

Type MSP to DTW into google and set the dates and it shows up.

Yeaaah, not doing a 4 hour layover at OHare for a 2 day trip to Detroit. I'm too old for that sh-t. I'd rather go to Vegas and watch in a sports book.
