Dude! More athletic than Harrison Smith? A 6'2" and 215 pound future hall of famer? Described as an "ultra-athletic, big and smart safety" in his NFL draft profile and still showing it in his 13th year in the NFL at age 35? Seriously, the guy is 35 and still playing at a very high level in the league!!!! I hope Koi is lucky enough to be even close to as good as Harrison Smith and I'm sure he does too.
I think Koi looks really great, but some of you are getting a little out over your skiis don't you think? I've watched a good amount of Ohio State football and would take their kick returner over Koi. He's faster and quicker, just not as big. An absolutely dynamic athlete. Koi ran a 10.89 100m in high school. That compares to a 10.71 for Cooper Dejean (someone he's frequently compared to) and a 10.36 for the 5-star wide receiver recruit USC just got.
One great decision Koi made was joining the U of M. He can start his true freshman year and be showcased all over the field because we just don't get many high 4-star/low 5-star athletes here. Had he gone to Ohio State, he'd be sitting on the bench waiting his turn behind their two all-American safety candidates including Caleb Downs, who's only a sophomore. Not only is Koi an excellent athlete, he's also smart and strategic! OK. I agree with you, he does sound something like Harrison Smith. We/he can only hope!
