C. The schedule this year was set up for a strong record and they didn't execute well enough. Ohio State and Oregon were longshots but all of the other games were very winnable - Iowa on road would have been tough but we should have absolutely won the Cal and Northwestern games and be sitting at 9-3.

The home and away difference was also glaring and pointed to mental or preparation issues.

It’s harder for every team to win on the road.
If you flipped home road this team probably isn’t 7-5 IMO
Because I don’t think they’re beating Oregon, Ohio state, or Iowa at home.

Maybe flip the cal and northwestern games….
Maybe flip all the home games except northwestern state

I went B. Yes the D was worse than expected. As was the run game. Yes, they squeaked out some wins, but the middle of the B1G is tight. IMO, there’s no material difference between teams like MN, PSU, Illinois, NW, Michigan, Nebraska, and Washington. Maybe Rutgers is in there too, and towards the end of the season, even MSU (should’ve beat Iowa and currently curb-stomping Maryland).

I wanna see 11-1 as much as anyone, but a winning B1G record with wins against Nebraska and Wisconsin will keep me warm at night this winter lol.

Voted C with a caveat of it being a C+, close to a B-. If we're going with the grading percentage, I'd say it's like a 78% or 79% (C), not quite 80% (B).

Win either Cal or Northwestern and it would be in B territory. Win both and it would be a B+ for sure. Unfortunate to drop those. The good news is they did enough to keep an 8 win total on the table.

Damn, if the Gophs have a FG kicker, they could be tied with Iowa and probably USC in the conference standings.

Beating Wisconsin alone is almost a B by itself. Finishing 5 and 4 in an 18 team Big Ten drags it to a B for me. Kicking Nebraska was also satisfying.
Yes, losing to Cal and NW are PJ traits....coulda pretty easily been 9 and 3, so it's frustrating but...
If I said C it would be because we got demolished by Iowa, Oregon and Ohio State. Win one on occasion but be competitive almost all the time against top teams.

If I only saw the record I’d maybe vote B, but with how well positioned we were to get to 8 regular season wins I will say C. Freshman quarterback, I get it - but the defense wasn’t able to do its part and took a step back.
Home games were a hell of a lot of fun!

I went with B. We started a freshman QB in the B1G and had a winning record. We left some meat on the bone, don't get me wrong. But we had the same record we had last year with a bunch of guys that went pro, including a QB that's starting an NFL game tomorrow. I'm not sure we had the talent we had last year, and we had the same regular season record. I'll take it as above average.

B- to C+, most likely because we lost to Cal and Northwestern, two games the Gophers could have won. I say B minus because we won all the home games, whipped Nebraska and Wisconsin. Would have been a shit out today with the illegal touching ruled incorrectly a touchdown. Inconsistency due to some youth cost the Gophers two W's in the win column.

I grade on a curve given that OSU, Oregon and Michigan are in a different stratosphere. A winning BG10 record and Axe in the case is a B. Beat Iowa and Northwestern and it would be an A.

C for Meh.... They didnt beat anybody they shouldn't have. I'll change that to a B with a dominant bowl victory.
