Nah, a W will put us at the most wins we've had in 13 years and more wins than Kill had in a single season. I Wouldn't be worried.
 

Was reading about the history of the Holiday Bowl - found this tidbit:

One of the more popular (yet unusual) events associated with the Holiday Bowl is the Wiener Nationals, the national championships for the U.S. dachshund racing circuit. The game is also celebrated with the Big Bay Balloon Parade, organized by the Port of San Diego and currently sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union.

That is a wonderful place but you will wait a long time. Want some more local great? Try Crest Cafe or Hash House a Go Go. Both probably the best breakfasts I have had besides Al's.

They run qualifiers at Del Mar for it.
 



If you've never been to San Diego, go. We'll be there. I really hope everyone on this site pulls all the strings to go . Plus, by December 27th you will all have Icicle's up your ass.
 

Nice surprise to see the Gophers go to San Diego over Nashville! I however I was looking forward to the Gophers avenging that 86 Liberty Bowl loss to Tennessee. Oh well! Bring on the Cougs. Bring on the Pirate. Go Gophers!

This. Honestly, out of the games since Kill and co. took over, we were only suppose to win 2 (last year and Syracuse) and we finally won one last year. I don't have high hopes on the game. Washington State was ranked at one point and is very good.

I do like the game has a parade to go along with it. It was fun seeing the Citrus parade air locally after the game (even though we lost), but it was still fun. Also good for the marching band as well. I don't know though if this parade is nationally syndicated though. :( It's suppose to be the largest balloon parade in the United States

The Holiday Bowl Parade used to be syndicated on USA Network, not sure if it still is.

A little annoying that it takes place the morning of the game, especially with a 4 PM kickoff. But I think I will get over it.

I don't know why you think you can make people feel something they don't. If you want them to shut up about it that's fine, but don't pretend everyone is totally happy with the team, Claeys, facilities, and the list goes on. Also, follow your own advice.

In fact, you ought to be grateful people voice their opinions and concerns. Having an echo chamber of sycophants might be your cup of tea but I like to know what the enemy is thinking, why they think it, and the best way to attack it or change it.

The team really is out of the top 25 because nationally our schedule is looked at as being weak. MClaeys weight problem does in fact say something about him whether you want to admit it or not. Some people like to follow a motivational speaker-type. Does it really matter he's not PJ? Not if he's winning games and master of his domain and has the ear of his team.

I thought a lot of this brought the team together. When you're on a team you're playing for the guy next to you then the person in the stands. I think it will turn into a great game.

I think they may play well initially. However,I think WSU moves ball on us very effectively and will put up some astronomical numbers. Hope I'm wrong. Bowl season can be weird and upets will occur.
 

I think it could get very ugly. Frustrated players getting their asses kicked. But bowl games are hard to predict. Maybe the Gophers will control the ball and rush for 250 to 300 yards and physically dominate them, but that still might not be enough. Honestly, this season needs to just end.

Glad somebody else loves San Diego as much as I do, but Gophers, though scrappy after this huge mess here and loss of key defensive players, probably can't handle WSU's passing attack. Normally, they'd go for a ball control, clock control running game, but WSU is 28th nationally against the run. Nevertheless, at least there will be a game!
 





looks like the lines moved up a bit, now WSU by 10

see you 6pm horton plaza for battle of the bands and at the game.
