High school state tournament

Can someone tell me why we didn't offer Graham Woodward of Edina? I see he's signed with Penn St.; had a ton of offers inc. Gonzaga. Still hoping beyond hope for Tyus? Another Minny miss.

Dave Lee and Richard Coffey seem like good guys, but they're both so lifeless on the air they make the games boring. It's like listening to two tired guys in recliners comment on a game they happened to find while channel surfing.

What are the other Minny misses?

Watching Woodward and Hooker play it is obvious either is light years beyond Mav yet neither gets an offer. On the over hand Edina's Reggie Lynch is Olowokandi JR making cartoon like mistakes.

Give me a break. Light years? One is playing against B1G teams, the others high school ball.

Hooker and Woodward are incredible ball handlers and distributors. Both can penetrate and shoot. The opposition does not negate those skills. Remember the game when Mav try to do a crossover, fell on the floor giving up an easy lay-up for the opposition. That type miscue, unfortunately, was not rare for Mav. He can be a TO factory.Yes, either of those 2 are better PGs than Mav right now.

Mav dominated high school too.

I'll pass on the undersized, poor defender from Edina.

Doesn't have good length, not particularly explosive.

Good for him getting a ride to Penn State for ball I guess, although that's arguably less impressive than getting a football schollie at Indiana.

And Bertram is a poor man's Greg Ostertag. I realize he's just a freshman but he's pretty bad.

Not trying to take any sides, but Siyani Chambers is a blatantly obvious PG miss. (See TNT)
Could see that one coming even before he left HS.

Once again he would get destroyed in the Big Ten how do people not see this?

No he is not big but he sure as hell ain't slow. Seen him play a few times. He creates his own shot well and can dish. Wouldn't be a star but could easily be a good role player.

Doesn't seem to phase him in the slightest against #3 seed New Mexico. (NM would kill us)
Or California, Memphis, Saint Mary's, and Boston College for that matter. (all nice performances)

They both sound like they work for MPR.

MWC is overrated this year, they are the trendy conference people like Charles Barkley say is the best in America.

MWC > Pac12 but that's not saying much.

I'm not saying they are the B1G but they sure ain't sucky.

Looked great against Hopkins but Park Center really controled him in the second half, not sure if it is consistancy or just playing against better defense. Definately a scorer.

Siyani is better than Welch right now and it's not even close. He would have gotten significat run on our current team and he probably would have been a borderline starter (as a True Fr). Now, I'm not bashing Tubby for missing on him because everyone missed on him, but to argue that he wouldn't be effective in the Big 10 is clueless.

So he's better than Dre? Are you drunk?

It is late. Time to put the beer down and go to bed.

It is hilarious to me how people will only look at the positives of non-gopher players, yet try to find everything negative about our guys.

Chambers does a good job of distributing the ball (evident by his 7 assists tonight), yet also turns the ball over like crazy (5 turnovers tonight). People rip on Andre Hollins all the time for his turnovers while playing against Big Ten competition, yet salivate over a guy committing over 1 more turnover a game against the Ivy League. Sure it would be nice to have Chambers as a back up right now, but let's not act like he's some big time superstar right now.

Seriously, Chambers has 10 games this year with at least 5 turnovers. Hollins has done that 5 times in two years. He shot 2 of 15 against California. He had 7 turnovers against Memphis. The "nice" described here would have been shredded on gopherhole if it was a Gopher.

You forgot about the elephant in the room; if he's from Minnesota he's automatically better than whoever we got.

Sorta like Nate Wolters 3-14, 10 point performance against a big ten Michigan team with stud guards. Life is easier making shots against other players in the summit conference.

That is so true Xman - Don't look so good against the big boys.

Siyani Chambers assist to turnover ratio: 1.7 (38 minute per game)
Andre Hollins assist to turnover ratio: 1.5 (30 minutes per game)

I love Andre Hollins, but let's stop giving Tubby a pass on his inability to recruit a real point guard. He had Chambers in his back yard and he missed on another kid from edina this year. Why the heck won't he recruit a point guard? He's also missed on like 5 big men this year but we won't mention that. Tubby is a mess right now.

Chambers is also shooting 44 percent from three this year. Yes, in a poor conference, but you can't tell me he isn't worth a scholarship offer.

Trey Burke was 2/12 with 6 points. With that same logic, I suppose Burke wouldn't hold up in the Summit. Of course, we all know that isn't actually true though.
